We’re not. #DemsAbroad #VoteBlue #TrumpEconomy Details: Federal debt as a share of GDP, split by presidential party. Method: yearly change in debt/GDP is compounded only during the years each party held the presidency. When one party is in office, the other line stays flat. Data: FRED (GFDEGDQ188S), annualized from quarterly. Result: over this sample, Republicans accumulate more of the increase in the debt-to-GDP ratio.🧵

The Trump admin sent US Head Start providers a 6 page list of #DEI words they’re FORBIDDEN from using, or else lose federal funding. Examples: “Black” “Women” “Disability” “Gulf of Mexico”. Autism training had to be cancelled; Head Start is not allowed to acknowledge disabilities exist. The ACLU and several states are suing. Head Start helps over 700,000 pre-k children. #DemsAbroad

Trump is getting sued! Rep. Jason Crow is taking legal action against Trump and Homeland Security for allegedly violating a federal law (that Crow helped pass in 2019). This law allows Congress members to conduct unannounced visits to DHS facilities that house or detain migrants, including ICE, CBP, and HHS. 🧵

Chicago school teacher, US citizen with no criminal record was shot 5 times by an CBP agent, who called her ‘bitch’ before shooting her.
