Watch the “HAUL” Prologue Now. For those who’ve been following along, I’ve been developing the world of Haul on and off for nearly two years. One of the things I love about building Promise is having an incredible development team around me that helps keep these worlds alive, even when I’m pulled into bigger productions. Over the long weekend, I decided to dive back in. I pushed some of the latest AI filmmaking tools, experimented with what they’re now capable of, and used them to go deeper into this world. This is the result. HAUL In Purgatory, the dead earn their way into Heaven by hunting fallen angels. A guilt-ridden former Marine is one soul away from salvation when his final haul turns into a journey through Hell itself. Watch the prologue below.

A few months ago, I started exploring AI, music, and creativity with my son. He started showing a passion for music, so we decided to create an experimental music project that fuses all our passions. A musical exploration that blended our love for Trap hip-hop, metal, and anime gave birth to "Afraid2Sl33p." Our first single, "Come Undone," will be released on streaming platforms as part of a self-titled 8-track EP in a few weeks. Here is our first AI music video. Music created using Suno V5, lyrics written by my son and me. Keep creating and keep exploring. Cheers.

Watch Battalion—My First Ever 5-Minute Gen AI Short Film. I had to upload it in two parts. This is part 1; part 2 is in the comments. I created this over a few weeks using 100% image-to-video and text-to-video Generative AI. While not perfect, the tools advance daily, even during production, helping to produce incredible results. This is my most in-depth and longest Gen AI narrative film project. It was created by one person. The story chronicles the 320th Barrage Balloon Batallion, the only unit to storm the beach during D-Day composed entirely of African American soldiers. Google approached me and asked if I would be down to collab with their research team to create a film for Google I/O. Not only would I have access to Flow, their latest AI filmmaking tool, but I would also be responsible for giving feedback on the product itself. The filmmaker in me was excited for the challenge, but the technologist in me was living out my dream in helping mold a next-generation product for a new era of filmmaking. Experimenting with the tool has been a fun ride. Flow is built on Google Deepmind’s most advanced models - Veo, Imagen, and Gemini, and has allowed me to world-build and create characters I have had in my head for years. I can create consistent characters, scenes, and stories with the ability to reference key ingredients. With Flow, it finally feels like filmmakers are in control. We can iterate freely and actually steer the ship in our creations. I decided to create my short film “Freelancers” using Flow: An action-packed ride following two estranged adopted brothers—one methodical, the other loud and brash—who reminisce on their careers as international hitmen during dinner, until they realize they’ve both been contracted to carry out the same job.
