#NoKings security folks I spoke with in DC had no news about arrests. (DC Police Department TBD.) I saw babies & kids, people with dogs, elders on scooters & with walkers. & no counterprotestors or militarized police. US Park Police & National Guard stood watch, but had no crowd control to do. Snipers atop the National Gallery of Art, no shooters below. Radical claims about terrorism or violence by Karoline Leavitt had no basis in reality. It was a good day to bear witness to Americans across our union peacefully assembling & vigorously exercising the freedoms of speech, assembly, association, & the press we all enjoy under our Constitution. Folks sang “God Bless America” & “This Land Is Your Land” here. Such lived liberty & freedom is what has always made our union great, never hatred for immigrants or our fellow Americans on the basis of race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation, Speaker Mike Johnson. Love thy neighbor, uphold the Constitution, defend civil rights for everyone. 🇺🇸
