Homeland Security False: As every American can hear, Senator Alex Padilla identified himself. Forcing him out & to the ground, & handcuffing a sitting U.S. Senator who was lawfully present to conduct oversight is an assault on a U.S. official carrying out his constitutionally protected duty.

Senator Padilla chose disrespectful political theatre and interrupted a live press conference without identifying himself or having his Senate security pin on as he lunged toward Secretary Noem. Mr. Padilla was told repeatedly to back away and did not comply with officers’ repeated commands. @SecretService thought he was an attacker and officers acted appropriately. Secretary Noem met with Senator Padilla after and held a 15 minute meeting.

@DHSgov @SenAlexPadilla I don't care who he is, you don't have the right to rush people at a press conference. And this pos has the Senate floor to air grievances. But nope, it's always a go with violence instead. Well, he got what he wanted

@DHSgov @SenAlexPadilla He aggressively Advanced, he did not identify himself until he was already removed. How about if he approached like a rational person. I watched the conference live

@DHSgov @SenAlexPadilla False. He identified himself in the room.

@DHSgov @SenAlexPadilla Screaming someone's name after forcing your way in to a meeting is not considered identification.

A sitting senator does not need to “force” his way into any meeting in a federal building in the state he represents. You misunderstand his constitutional right to be present. He didn’t scream someone’s name: he identified himself as a senator to federal law enforcement. That’s the point when they should have gone hands off and ask for ID. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

@DHSgov @SenAlexPadilla False, verbally saying you’re someone is not identifying yourself. If that’s the case I’m Donald Trump 🙄

@DHSgov @SenAlexPadilla If they *hadn't known* he was a US Senator, & had thought he was a violent attacker, lunging at the DHS Secty—as alleged by DHS spokesperson, they'd have flattened his ass to the floor right there & would've also moved to protect Noem. They didn't.

@DHSgov @SenAlexPadilla Even as a German I can hear him saying that 😍

@DHSgov @SenAlexPadilla This is ABSOLUTELY ABHORRENT! I hope he’s ok. Thank you @SenAlexPadilla for speaking up. NO KINGS in America!

@DHSgov @SenAlexPadilla Why wasn't Padilla wearing his credentials? Weird, huh? Almost like it was planned but the Dims wouldn't stoop that low, would they? (sarcasm intended--of course they would)
