JOSHUA’s full speech for UNESCO x SEVENTEEN: Celebrating Youth, Creativity and Well-Being Together #조슈아 🦌: im joshua, and im honored to speak today on behalf of the 13 members of seventeen. 🦌: before anything else, i want to share that all our members truly wish they could be here today. they r sending all their love & support to everyone in this room. 🦌: today marks seventeen’s 3rd visit to unesco headquarters, a place that is always meaningful to us. from the vibrant energy of the 2023 youth forum, where we celebrated youth solidarity, to the profound honor of our 2024 appointment as unesco goodwill ambassadors for youth, every moment remains vivid in our memories. 🦌: upon our appointment, we shared with unesco a core belief: that young people should be empowered to lead change. this vision also aligns closely with the un youth 2030 strategy, wc aims to ensure that all young people, in all their diversities, are empowered as equal partners, leaders, & rights holders. driven by this conviction, seventeen proudly committed to launching a global youth grant scheme entitled “going together: for youth creativity and well-being”. this initiative was designed to provide young people wt resources, mentorship, & platforms to turn their ideas into meaningful actions. deeply moved by their passion & creativity, we knew we couldnt stop there. we expanded our commitment to help scale these efforts & support an even greater impact. 🦌: supporting this journey has been deeply valuable to all of us. we are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished. pls join me in a warm round of applause for all the young leaders who made these achievements possible, both here wt us in person & joining us online from around the world. 🦌: beyond the numbers, what really matters r the stories. we have seen young people use music and dance for healing, art for mental well-being, & sports to build confidence. they are transforming their communities in ways we never imagined. 🦌: two things amaze us most. first, no project was done by just one person. they came together, joined forces, and made it happen as a team. second, they did not need someone to tell them what to do bc they are the ones who know the challenges of their communities best. they were the ones who found the best solutions. 🦌: together, these experiences showed us that young people already have the answers to change the world. they just need someone to believe in them. at the same time, we know that creating change is never easy. it comes wt moments of doubt, immense pressure, & sleepless nights. for seventeen, that journey feels deeply familiar. 🦌: as 13 individuals sharing one dream for over a decade, we faced our own uncertainties, having to reinvent ourselves, embrace challenges, & push beyond our limits. thru those experiences, we learned that growth is never achieved alone. it thrives on trust & the belief that we are stronger together. yet moving as one team has never meant walking the exact same path. thru our unit & individual endeavors, each of us grows in our own way, making seventeen more complete as a whole. 🦌: it is for this very reason that we have promised to move forward as one team. we see this beautiful dynamic reflected in your work as well. across diff countries & cultures, each of u is pursuing a unique path. while ur projects address diff challenges, together, u r creating a better world for us all. so lets keep going together! 🦌: thru the journey of the global youth grant scheme, we realized that there are dreams everywhere. i think they just need a gentle nudge, a small voice that says, “we believe in you.” we want to be that small voice.

260621 CARATLAND D2 #조슈아 JOSHUA’s ending ment 🦌: for the past 2 days, thank you! being able to perform our fanmeeting on such a huge venue. i realized it again, im blown away. u even filled up all the way to the 5th floor. i rlly cant believe it. we r rlly a team that succeeded. 🦌: its js that carat making us proud of ourselves, bc u sent us so much love. thats how much we got to perform confidently. and while we prepare something for u, we do it wt fluttering heart. im so grateful for that. 🦌: for the past 11 yrs, u gave us so much love and endless support. thank u so much! to the members as well, i want to say thank you so much. 🦌: when i came to korea for the first time, when i got casted, they said they wd give me free plane tix and accommodations. it was my first time to be on a plane. i came wt a mindset of coming to korea to play. but back then, i didnt havent any dreams or anything i wanted to do.. thats when i went to the training room for the first time, and the members had a very clear dream, and they were working so hard for them. i was rlly inspired just like other members. i wanted to have that kind of dream too. i started very lightly, but now, ive come this far. 🦌: without the members, i wouldnt have come this kind of dream. so, members, thank you! if it werent for you guys, what would i do? 🦌: and after debuting, thanks to carats, i worked harder and wanted to improve and grow. so members and carats, i love you! 🦌: for some time, we cant be together as a group, time will fly so fast bc i cant still believe that we are on our 11th year, so pls wait for us, since time will go so fast! we will back for sure 🦌: *english* i just want to thank all the carats that came to our fan meeting for the last two days. thank u so much. its already been 11 years since our debut. u guys sent us so much love, so much support, and hearing all ur messages about how we helped u go throughout your life, we helped u go through hard times, that really means a lot, and it gives us a really big sense of responsibility to, you know, fill that up for u. fill up that empty spot that u have in your heart that u might not get filled by anyone else other than us. so, im just rlly thankful we could be those kind of people for u. 🦌: and we promise to continue to be those people for u. we r gonna constantly try to improve our craft and just stand before u as the amazing and loving artists that you see us. so, thank you so much, carats. we might not be able to see each other as a whole group for a while, but we r gonna be back for sure, so dont worry and promise to wait for us, okay? love you. thank you. proud of you, joshua, i love you 🥺🤍

i rlly love how jun openly talks about his triplets. it started wt him and the members joking about ocl being the names of his future sons in gose, and then the idea just kept coming back over the years. from becoming part of his amc, to making their stage debut last yr, to him bringing them to work and having his co-workers fall in love wt them, to him randomly sharing little updates about their lives during welives, and now to him bringing them back again as his bday merch. it’s js so endearing 😭 jun is rlly the best dadda <3

260621 CARATLAND D2 #준 JUN’s ending ment 🐱: first, thank you to all the carat who came today! while listening to the members talk, i was rlly reminded of the old days. during my 20s, we all ran tgt for our dreams, and while we were in our process, thanks to u, we were able to achieve a lot of our dreams. and we also got new dreams and got to show u our new aspects. 🐱: now that im jun in my 30s, im still running the same. i will continue showing you cool music and performances 🐱: and in the new world to come, i hope i can enjoy it well wt all of you. i love you, junhui 🥺🤍
