I was arrested this morning together with fellow patriotic Kenyans during our procession to present a petition to the Kenya Wildlife Services against the excision of part of the Nairobi National Park to construct a 1300-car parking lot. Our national heritage and environment must be safeguarded from greed and unnecessary destruction without public participation.

Today as we marched to Parliament to lay flowers at the site where Kenyan Youth were shot dead, police violently dispersed us a few metres from the precincts of Parliament. I pulled Rex Masai's mother, who was marching next to me into my vehicle as other mothers and victims found refuge in the few cars on site. We drove away as police men pursued us. We were guilty of one thing: peaceful demonstration and picketing as allowed by our Constitution in remembrance of these young heroes. As a people, we shall not relent until we deliver justice and accountability for the victims. #Ukombozi is nigh!

I visited Davis Lichuma at Nairobi Women Hospital today. He’s not able to talk. You don’t need to be told what he’s gone through. His frequent tremors when asleep, most likely “post traumatic stress disorders” (PTSDs), tells it all. Davis has been tortured. This is not acceptable and those behind it must be held accountable. We cannot be a nation that tortures, maims and kills its youth just because they seek good governance.

Our stand as the United Green Movement against the encroachment of Nairobi National Park has been vindicated. The courts have now ordered a halt to all further works inside the Park until 30th July, alongside a joint site inspection with a report due ahead of the 23rd July hearing. This is a victory for the thousands of ordinary Kenyans who stood up, not politicians, not the powerful, but citizens who refused to look away. But the fight is not over. The works are only paused. We stay vigilant until Nairobi National Park is fully protected. #SaveNNP

This morning, I visited the eight young students from Utumishi Girls Academy who are recovering at Kenyatta National Hospital following last week's tragic fire. I was accompanied by fellow United Green Movement representatives Neto Agostinho-JaSudan , Susan Lumumba , Daniel Orogo and others. I sat with these brave girls, conveyed my heartfelt condolences, and prayed for their swift and full recovery. I am calling on the relevant authorities to conclude their investigations without delay and to hold all those responsible fully accountable.

It was a pleasure spending part of Sunday afternoon with young content creators, photographers and videographers in Nairobi's CBD. I learnt more about their work and aspirations as well as their concerns about the high cost of living. As more young people turn to technology and digital platforms to create opportunities for themselves, we must support their efforts. I assured them that my administration will explore tax incentives and rebates to support content creators and other digital entrepreneurs.
