Seven days ago, I called on President William Ruto to discharge his constitutional and administrative duty to release the report of the National Taskforce on Police Reforms, which I submitted to him on 16 November 2023. That call remains unanswered. The President had before him the historic occasion of Katiba Day to release this report and set in motion its implementation. He let the moment pass. I now have the solemn responsibility to make the report public. I am in the final stages of consultation with various stakeholders and shall communicate the next steps in due course. Kenya deserves police institutions that serve and protect her people. #Ukombozi2027

I was arrested this morning together with fellow patriotic Kenyans during our procession to present a petition to the Kenya Wildlife Services against the excision of part of the Nairobi National Park to construct a 1300-car parking lot. Our national heritage and environment must be safeguarded from greed and unnecessary destruction without public participation.

Today as we marched to Parliament to lay flowers at the site where Kenyan Youth were shot dead, police violently dispersed us a few metres from the precincts of Parliament. I pulled Rex Masai's mother, who was marching next to me into my vehicle as other mothers and victims found refuge in the few cars on site. We drove away as police men pursued us. We were guilty of one thing: peaceful demonstration and picketing as allowed by our Constitution in remembrance of these young heroes. As a people, we shall not relent until we deliver justice and accountability for the victims. #Ukombozi is nigh!

I visited Davis Lichuma at Nairobi Women Hospital today. He’s not able to talk. You don’t need to be told what he’s gone through. His frequent tremors when asleep, most likely “post traumatic stress disorders” (PTSDs), tells it all. Davis has been tortured. This is not acceptable and those behind it must be held accountable. We cannot be a nation that tortures, maims and kills its youth just because they seek good governance.

In exactly a year, Kenyans will have a chance to choose between a country ruled by the usual political cartels, or a new country governed by the rule of law and meritocracy. The 2027 General Election, which as a United Green Movement we have dubbed the Ukombozi election, must be a radical departure from the ethnic based politics that has characterised our body politique in the past to one anchored on #Ukatiba . As I said at today’s NDC of the PM party, we have an opportunity to change our situation. I have offered myself to lead in radically changing Kenya. The choice is yours.
