These places in NY were such shitholes. The ones in Pennsylvania along multiple border States were the Taj Mahal. We had the best one. They closed it down in '07 because a brand new Thoroughbred Track was built two miles away and Internet wagering was taking off. Very sad.

Weird weekend in California in February of '89 Nasar Al Arab wins Grade 1 and falls down while pulling up. A different winner on same card at Santa Anita also fell down after wire. So did trailing horse in the finale. Meanwhile, at Golden Gate, jock literally hangs on for 2nd.

Hazlewood gets DQ'd after shifting in and fouling the pacesetter. This one could've been left up because the infraction almost certainly did not impact the outcome of the race. But note the ridiculous celebration by Hazlewood after the wire. You'd think he'd just won the Derby
