The fact historians can't ignore. Paul knew that writing those names down was a massive risk if the story wasn't true. By telling people exactly who saw Jesus and pointing out that most of them were still walking around, he was essentially inviting his critics to go cross-examine them. You don't tell people to go interview 500 witnesses unless you are certain those witnesses are going to tell the same story. This wasn't a private vision or a vague feeling. It was a public event that stayed public because the people involved stayed alive to talk about it. 📀Watch the full episode: #resurrection #apologetics #history #christians #theologians

Josephus Knew Jesus’ Executioners Josephus wasn't just a historian; he was practically sitting at the prosecution's table. Today, we map out the terrifyingly small world of 1st Century Jerusalem. This is awesome; we are proving that Josephus was professionally subservient to the specific family dynasty dedicated to wiping out the early Church. If Josephus was taking orders from the man who killed James, and whose father killed Jesus, it completely reframes the Testimonium Flavianum (Josephus’s famous passage about Jesus). It suggests that Josephus didn't learn about Jesus from public records or street rumors. He likely heard about Him over dinner with the very men who signed the death warrants. It makes Josephus’s writings less of a "history lesson" and more of an "insider leak" from the enemies of the Gospel.
