💢 BREAKING | Israeli settlers shoot dead a 14-year-old student and a 32-year-old man at a West Bank school, with Israeli forces providing protection Israeli settlers opened fire on Al-Mughair Boys School in the village of Al-Mughayyir, east of Ramallah, on Tuesday afternoon, killing a 14-year-old student, Aws Hamdi Al-Naasan, and a 32-year-old man, Jihad Marzouq Abu Naim, and wounding three others with live bullets, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA and the Ministry of Health. A paramedic at the scene said at least three settlers deliberately fired at children attempting to escape from classrooms from a position approximately 50 meters away, with a level of accuracy he described as close to sniping. An eyewitness said shooting was directed at classroom windows and balconies still full of children as residents attempted to evacuate the school by crawling. Israeli forces arrived during the attack and, according to witnesses, provided protection to the settlers rather than stopping them. A 63-year-old man, Attallah Abu Aliya, said he was shot in the leg by an Israeli soldier without warning as he walked toward the school after hearing it was under attack. Their deaths bring the West Bank toll to four killed on Tuesday alone, after a 16-year-old boy was run over by a settler's vehicle in Hebron and a 49-year-old woman died from injuries sustained in an Israeli army shooting in Jenin.

⭕️ EARLIER | The IRGC said it struck U.S. Fifth Fleet facilities in Bahrain during the fifth wave of “Operation Nasr 2.” It claimed its forces hit and destroyed: ➤ The NS1 management center ➤ A command-and-control center ➤ Large warehouses storing military parts and equipment ➤ Fuel storage facilities The IRGC said the attack was retaliation for what it described as a U.S. effort to control the Strait of Hormuz, block shipping routes and restrict regional oil and gas exports. It warned that if routes serving Iran and its partners remain blocked, other regional oil and gas export routes benefiting the United States and its allies could also be closed. “The export of oil and gas from the region should be either for everyone or for no one,” the statement said. The United States and Bahrain have not confirmed the claimed damage.

💢🇸🇦🇾🇪 REPORT | Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Ansar Allah traded fire Monday in an escalation that shatters a years-long truce, as the Saudi-led coalition aircraft struck Sanaa International Airport and the Yemeni group retaliated by launching ballistic missiles and drones at Saudi Arabia in return. 🔸Ansar Allah said Saudi warplanes hit the runway at Sanaa, Yemen’s capital, at 1:54 p.m. to close the airport to humanitarian flights carrying patients and stranded people. Yemen’s Saudi-backed government said the strike was meant to stop an Iranian Mahan Air flight from landing without Saudi authorization. The plane was eventually diverted to Hodeidah, a port on Yemen’s Red Sea coast. 🔸In response, Ansar Allah said it fired missiles and drones across the border at Abha International Airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia (see video), an operation it said “successfully achieved its objectives.” 🔸The coalition claimed its air defenses intercepted all missiles and there were no immediate reports of casualties, though explosions were reported by military monitoring accounts in the Saudi cities of Abha, near the Yemeni border, and Jeddah, on the Red Sea coast some 400 miles north. 🔸Ansar Allah warned airlines against flying over Saudi airspace until the “unjust blockade” on Sanaa is lifted, and thanked Iran for operating flights to the airport. A UN-backed ceasefire had largely frozen the conflict since the coalition intervened in 2015.

🚨BREAKING: Palestinian-American Child Shot Dead, Two Others Shot and Wounded by Israeli Forces in Occupied West Bank Omar Mohammad Rabea, a 14-year-old Palestinian with U.S. citizenship, was shot and killed on Sunday by Israeli forces near the West Bank town of Turmus Ayya, northeast of Ramallah. Two other Palestinian-American boys, aged 14 and 15, were also shot and wounded—one in the abdomen, the other in the thigh. Both were taken to a nearby clinic in the village of Abu Falah, PRCS told reporters. The Israeli military acknowledged that its forces opened fire on three children who were standing near a road adjacent to the town. A video released by the military shows the teenagers appearing to throw an object. In a statement, the military claimed it had “identified three terrorists who were throwing rocks at a highway with civilian vehicles,” and that Israeli “fighters fired at the terrorists, killing one and wounding the other two.” The military reportedly seized Omar’s body from the hospital and is still withholding it. WAFA also reports that Israeli forces delayed ambulance crews from reaching the scene. The killing comes amid a sharp rise in settler and military violence across the West Bank. While the Biden administration had previously sanctioned a handful of violent settlers, those sanctions were rescinded by the Trump administration, which also recently approved the sale of over 20,000 U.S.-made assault rifles to Israel—a $24 million deal previously delayed over concerns the weapons could be used by extremist settlers. The shooting took place a day after Palestinian Children’s Day. Ramallah and al-Bireh Governor Laila Ghannam said the targeting of the three children reflects an ongoing pattern and policy of Israeli state terror—killing Palestinian children and attempting to eradicate the Palestinian people. More than 200 children have been killed in the West Bank since October 2023. And in Gaza, Israel has killed more than 500 children in 20 days since resuming its genocidal assault on March 18, 2025. 🎥 Crisis Group’s Ali Vaez asked why Iran would “sacrifice” a supposedly generous U.S. deal over control of the Strait of Hormuz, including a southern corridor handling at best 20% of traffic. Vali Nasr rejected the premise, arguing Tehran concluded early that Washington never intended to honor the MOU and was using it to catch its breath before another war. Nasr said Iran had expected another Israeli/U.S. round by October. Instead, it came much sooner. He identified four signals that convinced Tehran the MOU was never going to be implemented: 1️⃣ No money arrived. No frozen Iranian funds were released. Nasr said one person told him that if chief negotiator Qalibaf had returned from Doha with even $1 billion, “the conversation in Iran would have been very different.” Two months of oil waivers do little to change Iran’s economic position. 2️⃣ Lebanon showed Tehran the U.S. would not honor what it signed. Nasr said Washington agreed to provisions on Lebanon in the MOU, then almost immediately helped create conditions for Israel to operate there with the Lebanese government’s approval, effectively stripping Iran of leverage. 3️⃣ The U.S. began rebuilding for war immediately after signing. Military assets poured into the region in a pattern Tehran recognized from the buildup before February. Nasr said the rhetoric around diplomacy was simply not matched by what Iran was seeing militarily. 4️⃣ Washington began “whittling down” Iran’s control of Hormuz. Nasr stressed two separate moves: the U.S. encouraged tankers not to coordinate with Iran at all, then pushed them toward the southern channel. Iran drew the line. Washington responded with a massive escalation, targeting missile and drone batteries in an effort to take control of the strait out of its hands. 🔸Vali Nasr’s key point: Iran does not see this as a choice between economic benefits and Hormuz. In Tehran’s view, there were no economic benefits to “sacrifice” because Washington was never going to deliver them. And without control of Hormuz, Iran believes it has no leverage to force the U.S. to implement any future deal. As Nasr put it, control of the strait gives Iran a “sword of Damocles over the head of the global economy” that Tehran sees as “essential” to getting anything from Washington. 🚨NEW: Drop Site journalist Ryan Grim has authenticated behind-the-scenes messages showing Politico omitted an important detail from its reporting on how the night began that led to the rape allegations against Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner. Before publication, a Politico reporter told the Platner campaign that Jenny Racicot, on the night in question, had been “texting [Platner] about needing her glute massaged.” The reporter added, “That detail didn’t make our story.” Racicot told Jake Tapper during her CNN interview that Platner had “taken something that I said as an invitation” before she subsequently texted him not to come over. Tapper did not follow up to ask what the content of the message was, and did not respond to a request for comment from Drop Site. Politico, in a statement to Drop Site, did not dispute that the outlet was aware of the “glute masssage” text, and said that it would update its reporting if further information arose. According to a spokesperson: “This story is based on extensive reporting and interviews and reflects our editorial standards. In interviews with us and in accounts she gave to other outlets, Jenny Racicot said that she told Graham Platner not to come to her home and that he nevertheless showed up there uninvited. POLITICO gave Platner and his campaign ample opportunity to respond to our reporting and to provide any information or documentation they believed contradicted it. If presented with information that materially challenges our reporting, we will report it.” Platner is expected to drop out today. 🎥 Ryan Grim | Saagar Enjeti via Breaking Points
