Bir tarama çok şeyi değiştirir… Önce Kendimize, Sonra Hastalarımıza... Bugün bir doktor olarak değil, kendi sağlığına sahip çıkan bir birey olarak kolonoskopi masasındaydım. Tarama amaçlı yaptırdığım bu incelemede riskli bir polip saptandı ve büyümeden, sessizce ilerlemeden vakitlice çıkarıldı. Bu süreçte yanımda olan, titizliği ve ilgisiyle güven veren sevgili doktorum Dilara Turan’a, konforumuzu ve huzurumuzu sağlayan anestezi doktorum Menekşe Özçelik’e ve tüm gastroenteroloji ekibine gönülden teşekkür ediyorum. I’ve spent years telling my patients: “Screening can save your life. Don’t wait.” Today… I finally listened to my own advice.Lying on that colonoscopy table not as Dr. Yüksel, but just as me, a person who’s scared of what might be found, my heart was pounding. What if something was wrong? What if I’d waited too long? Then came the moment: the screen showed a polyp. Risky. Sneaky. The kind that can sit quietly for years before turning into something far more serious. My wonderful doctor, Dilara Turan, spotted it instantly and removed it right then, cleanly, carefully, before it had any chance to grow or spread. I wasn’t just a patient; I was proof that early action really does rewrite the story. A huge, heartfelt thank you to Dilara for her steady hands and even steadier calm, she made me feel safe every second.
