We’ve improved Melville street as part of #CCWEL to make it easier to walk, wheel and cycle. We’ve widened the pavements, added more crossing points, planted trees and added cycle parking and benches to create a new public space.

Celebrating one year on with more cyclists using Edinburgh’s City Centre West to East Link. Cycling Scotland recorded 1,000 more bike journeys in January 2025 vs 2024. Pedestrian satisfaction levels have also increased thanks to wider pavements, and improved crossing points.
