Cairo is by far the most unhinged city I’ve ever lived in. It’s literally like living inside a megabrain with ADHD. You visit something called the “Cairo Jazz Club” expecting Duke Ellington, get 180 BPM EDM and a zoo of K-hole monkeys doing primal seizures so you bolt outside for oxygen through the vodka-cigarette haze just to find drunks painting the pavement while ALLAHU AKBAR blasts from the minaret. And right across the street, you see niqabis twerking on a glitter-thong belly dancer at an open-air wedding then BOOM! Some cars just fused into a Euro-modernist art piece with 7 souls express-delivered to Allah while some poor mango seller competes with sirens for volume because his kids are hungry and here comes the Ferrari douche honk-spamming the entire scene because his pedicure appointment is ticking. Pure nonsense on every level no matter how hard you try to decode it.

Wojaks aside: The UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict sent a team to Israel in early 2024. After interviewing witnesses, first responders, medics, and reviewing available forensic material, they said there are “reasonable grounds to believe” that rape and gang rape occurred in several locations, especially around the Nova festival and along Road 232. That is the UN’s official standard for confirming that incidents of sexual violence took place. The UN Human Rights Council’s Commission of Inquiry also reviewed the evidence. Their report said there was a “pattern indicative of sexual violence” during the attacks, including cases of rape and sexual assault both at attack sites and in captivity. The Israeli Association of Rape Crisis Centers reached the same conclusion after collecting testimonies from professionals who handled the bodies and from survivors. Their report described “systematic, targeted sexual abuse” during the assault. None of these investigations say “there was no rape.” They all say sexual violence happened, even if the total number of cases is still unknown because many victims were killed.

Neither. The Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem isn’t the one mentioned in the Quran because it was constructed by Abd Al-Malik ibn Marwan around 70 years after Muhammad’s death. The actual Al-Aqsa is in Saudi Arabia. Al-Azhar’s Mostafa Rashed explains the real history:
