Here’s a part of my interview with U.S. Ambassador Pete Hoekstra that hasn’t gotten enough attention. In light of the NBC report about Trump privately discussing Canada’s arctic vulnerabilities, it should. I asked Hoekstra specifically if the argument Trump makes on Greenland could also apply to Canada.

I’m getting more and more frustrated that Canada has the talent to make the best things in the world, but doesn’t have the wealth to see our ideas come to fruition at home. Case in point: The Las Vegas Sphere. The Sphere features an 18K resolution wraparound LED screen that measures 160,000 sq ft/15,000 m² with 166,000 speakers. It’s largest and highest-resolution LED screen in the world. The facility is what the future looks like. The company behind it? SACO. Based right here in Montreal. 300 employees. The insane videos you’re seeing? Made in Montreal! We should be building incredible structures and venues here, instead of looking with envy at SACO’s installations in Las Vegas, Dubai, or Cincinnati, to name a few. Felipe Alou gave an emotional speech tonight as Expos Fest ⚾️🎗️ retired his #17 jersey. He turns 90 in May and acknowledged that this may be the last time he returns to Montreal. “Thank you for my Québécois wife Lucie of 40 years. God bless Canada… and keep the faith and hope that a new team will come back with the name Expos…”

Tesla’s FSD has become really good at day-to-day driving, and it’s now performing like a human in very complex scenarios. Here’s video from last Friday, during afternoon rush hour. There’s a broken down pickup truck in the middle of the three open lanes in the Ville-Marie tunnel. Lights indicate that lane is closed. My car is in the leftmost lane, which suddenly also comes to a standstill, after police show up and an officer exits his vehicle and stops traffic. When it appears that the left lane will not start moving again, FSD moves my car two lanes over the right. 🤯 It then curves around a pothole in that lane, following how the car ahead handled it. 🤯 Honestly if it wasn’t for how bad Montreal roads are with potholes, I would hardly be driving myself at all.
