Republican midterm convention officially kicking off in Dallas

I just asked @potus if he would send the National Guard or ICE to voting locations in November. He did not rule it out. The president: “Well you know what. I’d do anything necessary to make sure we have honest elections. We have to have honest elections."

The president briefs reporters after shooting at the Hilton Hotel. He says an officer was wounded but is doing well and spoke with him on the phone.

I asked President Donald J. Trump about the FBI reportedly seizing election records in Arizona. He said they must have done that because it was a “rigged” election. I pointed out to him that his own AG said there was not measurable voter fraud to overturn that election

There’s a lot of scaffolding that’s gone up in front of the White House recently. A few moments ago, workers dropped a semi-transparent covering over the side closest to the West Wing.

I asked Mark Cuban - who some have speculated might run for president - if he’s considering that while he was outside the White House this evening. “Hell no…I’m all about reducing the cost of healthcare. To me that’s my ultimate legacy.”

Stewart Rhodes, the founder of the Oath Keepers and convicted of seditious conspiracy for January 6, is at the GOP midterm convention in Dallas. He lives in Texas now and wanted to come to this, he told me. I asked him if he regrets his role in the insurrection:

asked Stephen Miller about whether he’d seen the anti-ICE ad put out by the Women’s March targeting agents to leave the agency - he hadn’t, so I asked if he’s comfortable with the tactics used in Chicago and other cities:

NEW to Scripps News: Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes confirms that his office is tracking what he believes to be a Russian disinformation video meant to influence the election in Arizona - he calls it “a stupid, ham-handed attempt I think by our foreign adversaries.”

.Adrian Fontes spoke with Scripps News about President Trump election executive order. He told me that if DOGE comes for any Arizona voter rolls or information: “I would tell them to go to hell.”

I asked the president a moment ago about the comments the First Lady made last week about Jeffrey Epstein - and if he supports congressional testimony from the survivors. He said, “I’m okay with it but I understand the women didn’t want to go under oath. That’s what I heard.”
