The opening minutes of ep 179 is like the benchmark episode everyone measures up to: Goku vs Cell from Studio Cockpit, led by Keisuke Masunaga. Some people have Mandella-Effected themselves into thinking every Z ep looked like this; it didn't, but those that did looked special. This is from the SoM x Neo-Raws version.

This is an actual 'perfect' scene, no pun intended. Absolute perfect directing, storyboarding, vocal performances, and animation. Realizing he's cooked, Cell fires THE move of the series at full power and then Gohan does his very 1st Kamehameha & totally overwhelms Cell. After realizing he can't hit SS2 Gohan, Cell FINALLY elevates his ki to near maximum power, and he was NOT bluffing. In the EARLY moments of the Goku vs Freeza battle, Goku quickly realizes that Freeza cannot sense ki. That no matter how fast or strong Freeza is, his biggest weakness is that he did not know how to sense energy, which is exactly what would lead to his defeat. This was the end of the 'scouter' and 'battle power' era of DBZ: the Earthlings (and Vegeta learned) were right the whole time: learning ki was way more valuable than technology. 'Boogie Back' was one of the more beloved ending themes from #DragonBallSuper but it took on a more emotional meaning after the passing of Hiromi Tsuru, who voiced Bulma in the series going back to episode 1 of Dragon Ball in 1986. Bulma bookends the animation for the closing scene.
