Follow-up on sole/ground interaction: The sole angle is a key design lever that controls how the club sits. -Raise the sole, club falls open -Lower it (demo'd by tape in vid), club sits closed This often compounds the closed/open face when you make an adapter adjustment.

More on sole geometry: Some brands rock easily, allowing the player to manipulate open/closed at address. Some brands lock in. I’ve been in rooms where these (seemingly small) design choices are debated endlessly. 😄 Do you have a preference?

Ben Hogan’s famous advice to use your waggle to feel the shot you’re going to hit might be the longest tenured part of my routine. I think if we spread this info we could eliminate 1 million practice swings in 2026. Consider this the start of my campaign.

Putting coaches. Help me out. -RH players are comfortable with right-to-left putts. -Then we change for left-to-right. The stroke looks wishy as we manipulate to pull the ball on line. I experience this, and I see it persist to the very top of the game. What's the fix?

In S. Korea, driving ranges employ auto tees. They charge by the hour, not by # of balls. Ranges are more popular because on-course access is limited &amp; expensive. I.e. Koreans destroy drivers. Engineers alter durability standards accordingly in this market.

By my recollection, this is the swing that started the shallowing craze.

Here’s a great video showing dynamic droop. (Club School lesson 8 for those following along) Lie angle is a crucial part of iron fitting, and droop is a factor. E.g. - You might get softer iron shafts and suddenly be 2° flat. (h/t Oliver C. Morton)

Here’s a ridiculous shot, but also a great example of a key concept: An upright lie goes left because it tilts the face. The more loft, the more it points left. Wedge will start more left than 4i from the same upright lie. Zero loft would go straight.

Jim Nantz announced on the broadcast yesterday that Pebble Beach plans to restore the 2nd cypress tree to the 18th fairway. The "other" tree in the background of iconic moments like this one from Tiger in 2010. The tree was lost in a storm in 2014. Good, bad, or don't care?
