Nigeria lending money to the World Bank and IMF in the 1960s and 1970s was not proof that we had solved our development challenges. It was more a case of misplaced priorities and poor strategic direction.😆🤣 We can still do it today if we want, but there are far better ways to deploy our reserves than tying them down with the World Bank. Besides, in 1963, the CBN was still headed by a British-born governor, Roy Pentelow Fenton.
