Commentary on Sharmutta Maxxing by the ‘Eritrean Karen’ Eritreanit Girl Her gender wars, fetish for Ethiopian men, denigration of Eritrean men as short pygmies amidst growing division in the Eritrean community Eritreanit Girl? ‘Eritrean Karen’ Instead of promoting something positive for the Eritrean community, she misleads the youth, she bashes her own Eritrean people and glazes Ethiopians. This while Eritreans face poverty, inflation and threats by Ethiopia. Portrayal of an Eritrean Karen Eritreanitgirl appears to be an Eritrean version of a Karen, privileged and ignorant girl. She fetishizes Ethiopian men while bashing Eritrean men as short pygmies who don’t grow after the age of 5, which doesn’t exist in Ethiopia. This while she previously said don’t date Habesha men. But Ethiopian men are not Habesha? Instigating Division While the Homeland Suffers While our people in Eritrea are suffering from water crisis, fuel crisis, political tense situation, sanctions and an expansionist Ethiopia that wants to invade Eritrea, this clueless girl ‘Eritreanitgirl’ instigates gender wars, divides the Eritrean community, refers to Eritrean men as pygmy (small-bodied men) and she glazes Ethiopian men because they are not chronically small. She rather speaks Amharic than her own language Tigrinya because her parents were raised in Ethiopia. Promotion of Degeneracy and Sex work: And she made a video promoting degeneracy and swork. She wants to go for West African men? Sure This girl wants to promote a dangerous lifestyle of degeneracy and swork for our community. This is not part of the Eritrean culture (twerking & prostitution ) it has nothing to do with empowering women. Questions for the Community: What happened to our Eritrean community? Why do we have the gender wars in 2026? Why can’t we promote unity and help the simple Eritreans back home? Why do we need to empower women by reverse discrimination against all Eritrean men? Call for Unity in Time of Crisis: At a time our people are suffering we need unity. Our people are experiencing drought, water crisis, fuel crisis and potential Ethiopian invasion of Eritrea as Ethiopia’s gov threatened Eritrea with war. True Path to Empowerment: We can discuss about empowering women, but we cannot promote reverse discrimination and division. Our country needs stability, safety, peace. Empowering women is a political issue that can be solved politically by establishing a constitution giving equal representation for women in politics, promoting gender equality, same wages, freeing women from enlisting in the military after basic military service, abolishing arranged marriages. Acknowledging Both Sides: There are men that are violent. There are also good Eritrean men that take care of Eritrean women and praise them and defend them. There are good Eritrean men who don’t date outside marriages and keep purity until marriage. But the truth is domestic violence doesn’t only come from horrible men; there are Eritrean mothers who beat and abuse their children, promote arranged marriages or FGM. There are mothers that abandon their children and prefer politics, promote Awaraja issues and gossip. There are bad Eritrean women who demonize Eritrean men, harass men and are involved in unnecessary social media conflicts. Rejecting Selective Outrage & Focus on Real Needs: The best thing is to not promote chauvinism or selective outrage like Eritreanitgirl and other delusional diasporas. We need to hold anyone that promotes hatred accountable and we should not generalize people. We should move away from the social media wars and be there for the everyday Eritreans that need help in time of inflation, poverty, drought, fuel and water crisis and Ethiopia’s threats. Accountability We should report any account attacking Eritrean women but these Eritrean women who do the same will be dealt with. If they want drama they should not use the name of Eritrea for that.
