So Brittany Ferries took on it's first trucks this evening. Unweaned calves were bawling their heads off, already hungry & tired, and they have an 18 hour ferry journey ahead of them. Well the passengers on board are certainly going to get an unforgettable experience! Please join us at Rosslare port on Sunday 6th April at 15:00 🐮 #StopLiveExports

📢 Brittany Ferries made the shameful decision to start transporting unweaned calves from Ireland to France in the full knowledge that they cannot be fed during the long journey, which is not only cruel it breaches EU legislation. Please email the CEO and tell him this is not OK! #calves #stopliveexport ✍️[email protected]

Truck after truck seen arriving at Rosslare Europort this afternoon full of bawling calves. The first truck was seen at 14:15 and the ferry has just left, nearly 5 hrs later. How long have those calves already gone without feed? Stena Line UKIE doesn't give a sh*t. #BanLiveExports

The Brittany Ferries Cotentin is only just arriving at Cherbourg Port after 18 hours at sea. These calves, bawling with hunger yesterday afternoon at Rosslare Europort still have not been fed and it will be some hours before they all are. 30 hours or more with no food, I can't spell it out any clearer! How can you claim this is high welfare Christophe Mathieu Jean-Marc Roué Rodolphe Saade It's unfathomable that anyone even tries to defend this, they are very young, vulnerable animals. Dept of Agriculture, Food and the Marine Bord Bia - The Irish Food Board National Dairy Council Teagasc Irish Farmers' Association this has to stop! Barry Cowen MEP Nina Carberry MEP Ciaran Mullooly MEP Cynthia Ní Mhurchú MEP please do something!

📢 Volume up! This truck full of unweaned calves was seen heading to Rosslare Europort this afternoon, over 4 hours before the ferry departure time. They are bawling their heads off, already hungry and stressed. They will have been fed in the morning but it will be at least another 24 hours before they get another feed, if the ferry leaves on time. You can see some calves have weepy eyes and one has signs of diarrhea. Two recent studies have shown that the fitness for transport checks conducted by DAFM vets are wholly inadequate, with large numbers of calves found to have lung damage before, during and after transport. These journeys breach legislation and cause immense harm and suffering 🐮 Brittany Ferries #StopLiveExport

Thousands of bovines loaded today at PortofWaterford We think they are in calf heifers going to Libya or Algeria, we'll know more later. This industry is outdated and unnecessary, shame on all those involved for profiting on the back of cruelty and suffering. #StopLiveExports
