Phil Johnson attacks Joel Webbon for not being woke for Jews. Then he attacks the NXR conference for its speakers. But if we go down that road, Phil Johnson has defended having woke speakers like John Piper and Ligon Duncan at Shepherd's Conference. Yeah, as a Christian, I'd much rather listen to Alex Jones then woke preachers.

I have unearthed the Josh Howerton George Floyd sermon. Josh Howerton takes a Netflix approach to reading the Bible. Howerton cites the church in Antioch as a diverse church to make a grandiose claim, suggesting that Simeon was Black because he was called Niger. "Of those five leaders, one was from the Middle East [Simeon or Manaen], one was from Asia [Paul], one the Mediterranean [Barnabas], and one from Africa [Lucias]… Why does it tell us these names and where they’re from?… The unequivocal answer is in the church, God is out to destroy the dividing wall of hostility and create one new man from among every nation of men under our brown-skinned Middle Eastern Savior." However, all of the leaders were likely Jewish. Lucius was a common Hellenistic Jewish name in Cyrene, a city with a sizable diaspora. There are many possibilities for why Simeon was called Niger, including hair color, darker skin, or even his demeanor, but among the least likely is that he was Black. We know Paul and Barnabas were Jewish. And both Simeon and Manaen are transliterated Hebrew names. So, Antioch is not evidence for Howerton’s point. He is trying to make this cast a lot more diverse than it actually was. And he tacks on the assumption of Jesus’s skin color to score woke brownie points in the process, which was the point. This is the entire goal of salvation, Howerton says.

Josh Howerton spins a tale that he was a closet conservative who was not preaching the counsel of Scripture on issues of societal conflict which led to the world preaching the truth more boldly than he. He claims that people noticed his repentance in 2021. Howerton claims that he used to write sermons with an atheist on his shoulder and then also a Social Justice victim on his shoulder. He then realized that this was not honoring to God and was starving sheep to reach goats. But Josh Howerton was not afraid to preach to the conflicts in the culture. He did that and was simply woke.

Absolute banger from Matt Walsh today as he talks about Karmelo Anthony. Walsh claims deaths like Austin Metcalf occur because of a widely held "dangerous and completely false" belief that all racial disparities are a direct result of discrimination. He states that if society accepted racial disparities and recognized "self-awareness" (regarding statistically disparate crime rates), many innocent people, both Black and White, would still be alive. Walsh states that the "corporate press" presents these murders as unforeseeable, shocking anomalies instead of the destructive result of a "new constitution" 60 years ago (referring to the Civil Rights Act of 1964) that institutionalized and rewarded victimhood, grievance, and violence. Walsh concludes by saying that we must "tear up this new constitution and replace it with the one we started with."

Today on Financial Audit, a 38 year old Millennial quirkchungus is trying for a baby with her 46 year old husband. They've been together 15 years, married 7. They clearly put off having children. But she's been trying for 5 years and it hasn't worked, in part because her antianxiety medication apparently prevents conception. Feminism is a cancer to women.

The wider context of the viral clip is even worse. Sadie Huff was the child star from Duck Dynasty, and she would go on to become a female preacher in the vein of Christine Caine, under the wing of Louie Giglio. The majority of the conversation is about her using her fame to become a preacher, beginning with a childhood memory of Sadie “preaching” when she was 5, to being asked by cohost Troy Lydiate how she made the pivot. Sadie Huff expressly claims that she grew up in a traditional Christian household and that female pastors were practically unheard of, until she went to a conference during her senior year of high school where she was exposed to a female pastor in a highly charismatic environment who preached on “anointing.” Resonating with the message, Huff responded to the altar call and dedicated her life to Christ, which entailed social media, a book/speaking tour, and eventually preaching and podcasting. It’s worth noting that by this time, she had already appeared on Dancing With the Stars and authored a book. Graduating high school is a natural time to wonder about direction in life, and Sadie Huff was inspired by a female pastrix and thought that she had the tools to be like her. Wes Huff is silent throughout this explanation, but his facial expressions suggest that he is going along with something he disagrees with. Meanwhile, Troy Lydiate is slurping it up. As for the Robertsons, it seems that they never accepted female pastors until their daughter went off to become one in the realm of Clown World Evangelicalism.

Woke preacher Josh Howerton is not exactly a history buff and applies Isaiah 66:8 to 1948 Israel, claiming that this was accomplished by the Balfour Declaration. Howerton, celebrating his intellect with his buddies, was unaware that the Balfour Declaration was in 1917 and Israel declared its independence at the scheduled date in May of 1948. His friends would go on to confirm his ignorance. Inaccuracies aside, this is no more miraculous than all the other nations with independence days, as America also had an ongoing War of Independence prior to July 4, 1776. Israel was no more made in a day than any other nation. In fact, Isaiah 66-8 applies to Modern Israel, probably, less than most other nations, given that Zionism was a top down movement decades in the making.

New dispensationalist cope dropped. Steve Deace brought on Dave Anderson, the president of Grace School of Theology, to explain dispensationalism. Anderson claims that Augustine changed the gospel when he articulated that Matthew 24:13, "But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved," referred to eternal salvation, not physical survival. He also teaches the dispensationalist lie that historic premillennialism and dispensational premillennialism are the same eschatology.

On the same day that LCMS regional president Michael Mohr was arrested for gay behavior, an LCMS podcast dropped where a pastor claims that his gay "married" brother is a devout Christian. It's long past time to admit there is an issue in the LCMS, much like in the PCA.
