My first step towards the austerity measures envisioned by Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi ji: putting nation first. I was honoured with an invitation to represent Maharashtra, its culture and our glorious handloom heritage at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. A magnificent Paithani from Yeola, crafted with months of dedication by our artisans, was prepared for this special occasion. However, in view of the Prime Minister’s call to minimise international travel and embrace austerity, I have decided to respectfully forgo my visit to Cannes. This was not an easy decision, considering the love, effort and artistry invested in this journey. But when the nation calls, we must always stand by it with sincerity and conviction. My deepest gratitude to every artisan, designer and well-wisher who made this beautiful endeavour possible. The red carpet can wait; the nation always comes first. Jai Hind! Jai Maharashtra! It was a beautiful experience speaking to the students at Manthan 4 Yuva, organised at VNIT College, Nagpur - an event that brought together everything from a Science Exhibition, Patent Gallery, and the Viksit Nagpur Hackathon & Ideathon, to a Startup Fest, Campus Leaders’ Summit, and dance, music, and poetry competitions, all designed to give young people the chance to think, question, experiment, collaborate, and lead.

This is our rendering of Raag Miyan Malhar, offered to his unbreakable spirit 👉 In May 2021, COVID nearly took him from us — severe hyponatremia, pneumonia, three weeks in the ICU, tracheostomy operation - silenced his voice for days . Visited the Old Age Home run by the Helpdrive Foundation & Spent time with the residents there- Listening to their stories, their struggles, was overwhelming. What struck me most was the sheer warmth and love these senior citizens carried within them, despite everything they’d been through. Each story was a window into a lifetime of hardships faced, sacrifices made. Yet, instead of bitterness, what radiated from them was gratitude that was deeply humbling. Kudos to Shri Tarun Mishra, founder for his noble support to our homeless elders.

Visited Gadchiroli, a district once affected by Naxalism that is now witnessing remarkable transformation through inclusive development. My compliments to Shri Balasubramaniam Prabhakaran, Managing Director, Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited, whose community-focused initiatives are creating new opportunities for local youth and women and to Shri Devendra Fadnavis, the district’s Guardian Minister, for his continued support for its development. During my visit, I inaugurated the Lloyds Eklavya Hostel, Lloyds Shakti Hostel, Lloyds Bhojanalya and Lloyds Driving School. It was heartening to distribute awards, apprenticeship orders and offer letters to women trainees. I also toured the Lloyds Academy, including the Driving School, Digital Lab, Welding Simulator Lab, Welding Training Area and Automotive Two-Wheeler Lab, and was encouraged to see the world-class skill development facilities creating opportunities for the youth of the district. I wish people all the success as they build brighter futures for themselves & for Gadchiroli.
