The Unfinished March: A Protest Story. I remember the cold mornings of Shaheenbagh. The air was thick not just with fog, but with fear. I saw it in the eyes of the speakers... the quiet dread before they stepped to the mic. They knew that a single word could land them in a case file, or worse, in a cell. I remember Umar Khalid, Khalid Saifi, and Sharjeel Imam being detained. I remember the volunteers receiving notices through WhatsApp, the silent threats that arrived in the dead of night. सुशांत सिंह sushant singh ‏سشانت سنگھ Swara Bhasker Rana Ayyub Yet, they stood. Not because they were fearless, but because they chose bravery over fear. I remember Fahad Ahmad after he spoke, leaping from a school gate to escape a different route. I remember Prashant Kanojiya (when he was sane) being whisked away through back alleys just to keep him safe. Their courage wasn’t loud... it was the quiet defiance of people who knew the price of truth and paid it anyway. Today, the landscape has changed. The same speakers now take the center stage freely. No detentions, no midnight knocks. The authorities are celebrating. The media is smiling. But my heart is heavy. Because while the organisers are safe, the common man.. the student, the worker, the everyday citizen... Is still being beaten by security personnel. The batons have not been retired; they have simply been redirected. The fear has not disappeared.. it has just changed faces. And that is why we are not celebrating. Justice is not done. Not yet. #Azaadi
