Here's some real footage on the job showing exactly what we're talking about on a 787 nose gear. Watch how the downlock pin goes in the right spot, and check that plugged hole next to it from the AD.. Boeing had already flagged this and issued a Service Bulletin to install a plug/cover in the wrong hole. FAA made it mandatory with AD 2019-23-07. Newer jets like the Lufthansa one should have had that plug from the factory. Not sure exactly how the pin ended up in the wrong place or if it wasn't Installed/seated right during the gear cycle check...

🇵🇰 K2 Airways Cargo Boeing 737-400 (AP-BOI) on flight KTA1732 from Sharjah to Karachi disappeared off radar over the Arabian Sea, roughly 155 NM west of Karachi near Ormara. Five crew members on board. They told dispatch they had navigation problems and asked for help with the course... then the plane suddenly turned right and dropped like a stone... vertical speed hitting insane levels. Built in 1999, flew passengers as VP-BAR for Aeroflot back in the day, did time with Garuda, converted to freighter in 2011, and became K2’s first and only main ride. Pakistan Navy, Air Force, and merchant ships are out searching right now in the dark. Heart goes out to the crew and their families.

Using the thrust reverser of an A350 to reverse the aircraft would be the first time I have seen this. 2 May 2026, Shanghai Airport. Why did he use the thrust reverser twice? Why not just set the brake after the first time?

During the B787 startup, the stick shakers in the flight deck kick in as part of the normal stall warning self test. It just checks that the actuators under the control columns are working properly so the system is ready to give pilots that strong physical warning if needed. Basically, the shaker vibrates the yoke to feel like the real aerodynamic buffet you'd get when the plane is approaching a stall... high angle of attack. It’s a clear hands on alert so the crew knows to do something before things get dangerous. One of the important layers in Boeing’s stall protection setup.
