This is colonial mentality and inferiority complex of worst kind whereby people devalue local identity and overrate Western origin.

Pretty discourteous of Mohammad Malick to ask Defense Minister such ridiculous questions. I understand he is quite close to Khawaja M. Asif but that is a personal matter and should not lead to such behavior on media screen. Very magnanimous of Defense Minister to have replied with traditional cool. Khawaja Asif is one of the most seasoned politician, and he proved it once again.

حامد رضا صاحب! اعداد صرف علامتی ہوتے ہیں۔ یہ ایک یا 1500 کی بات نہیں ہے۔ اصل مسئلہ وہ لوگ ہوتے ہیں جو ان شیطانوں کے لئے نرم گوشہ رکھتے ہیں، انہیں اسپورٹ کرتے ہیں۔ یہ لوگ یا تو فتنے کے ہمدرد ہوتے ہیں، یا حامی ہوتے ہیں، یا یہ باڑ پر بیٹھے ہوئے وہ لوگ ہوتے ہیں جن میں صحیح یا غلط کو سمجھنے کی تنقیدی صلاحیت موجود نہیں ہوتی۔ اصل میں یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جو قانون کے نفاذ کو مشکل بناتے ہیں۔ یہ "عام" لوگ اس سماجی سپیس کو سکیڑ دیتے ہیں جس میں قانون نافذ کرنے والے ادارے کام کرتے ہیں۔ لہذا وقت کا تقاضا یہ ہے کہ قانون نافذ کرنے والوں کی اہلیت پر نہیں بلکہ ان حامیوں کی عقل پر سوال اٹھایا جائے جو جانے یا انجانے میں کسی بھی فتنے کو سپورٹ کرتے ہیں: چاہے وہ سیاسی ہو، دینی ہو یا قومیت پسند ہو۔
