The Curse of the First Knockout I was rewatching Ronda Rousey’s old fights the other night — back when she was unbeatable. Twelve wins. Finishing people in seconds. Pure dominance. But then — Holly Holm kicked her head off. And she never recovered. That loss didn’t just end a streak… it broke her. Came back 13 months later, KO’d again by Amanda Nunes in only 48 seconds. Absolutely demolished. Retired immediately. And that got me thinking: Was that just Ronda? Or does something happen to fighters when they finally get knocked out? So I started looking into it — and I found a crazy pattern. DISCLAIMER: We do our best to research every story we share — but facts, sources, and memories aren’t always perfect. What's the Difference Between a No-Hitter and a Perfect Game? Most people think a no-hitter and a perfect game are basically the same thing. They’re not. Here’s how rare they are: There have been over 330 no-hitters pitched in MLB history. But there have only been 24 perfect games. This jersey belongs to the man who threw one of those 24 perfect games and quite possibly the scariest man to ever throw one. The Big Unit. Randy Johnson. Yes, he’s the same guy that threw a pitch that hit a bird flying across home plate. "The Big Unit" retired all 27 batters, striking out 13 on 117 pitches. At 40 years and 256 days old, Johnson broke Cy Young's record to become the oldest pitcher to throw a perfect game. Ok, so he retired all 27 batters in order, 3 up, 3 down in each of the 9 innings. No hits or walks, or errors. No one reached base for any reason. That’s the difference. A no-hitter means the pitcher gave up no hits (meaning that if they do hit the ball, it gets caught, or the runner gets thrown out at first base so then it does not count as a hit. Now, in a no-hitter, batters can still reach base on walks, errors, or hit-by-pitches. A perfect game means nobody reaches base at all. 27 up, 27 down. Good night, Charlie. Zero chances to score a run. #Baseball #MLB #PerfectGame #NoHitter #RandyJohnson #SportsFacts DISCLAIMER: We do our best to research every story we share — but facts, sources, and memories aren’t always perfect. The World Cup Ball Is Broken! NASA once studied a soccer ball. Not a rocket — a soccer ball. Because the way it flew was so broken it was humiliating the best goalkeepers on earth. Soccer spent fifteen years making sure that never happened again. It’s happening again. This year’s ball is called the Trionda — “three waves” — for the first World Cup ever hosted by three nations. Canada’s maple leaf, Mexico’s eagle, America’s star, all swirling together across just four panels — the fewest of any World Cup ball in history. It’s genuinely beautiful. Which is exactly what they said about the last high-tech ball, right before it ruined everyone’s summer. Right now, mid-tournament, the goalkeepers are revolting again. Former England keeper Joe Hart went on the BBC and said it flat out: something’s up with this ball. Keeper after keeper beaten by long, no-spin shots they swear move wrong. #WorldCup #WorldCup2026 #Trionda #Jabulani #SportsFacts DISCLAIMER: We do our best to research every story we share — but facts, sources, and memories aren’t always perfect. World’s Greatest Athlete There’s an athlete greater than Jordan, Gretzky, Phelps, Ali, and Tiger—combined. And if you live outside Canada, you’ve probably never heard his name. When I tell you about the insane mission he took on — and what he did beyond it — I think you’ll agree. Do you remember that part in Forrest Gump where he just runs across the country and people start following him? That actually happened in real life. Except this guy only had one leg. #MarathonofHope #CancerReseach #TerryFox DISCLAIMER: We do our best to research every story we share — but facts, sources, and memories aren’t always perfect.
