Stay on your toes. Stay “spring-loaded.” Light and reactive, quicker first step, better lateral push, cleaner adjustments. Heels cost you split seconds you can’t afford in 1v1s.

Might be a bit harsh here, but Gravenberch’s inability to consistently play these passes is limiting Liverpool. When carrying isn’t an option (even though it was in this sequence), his passing range lets him down.

Can you disguise AND perform your action in one motion? Can you bait your opponent AND give them no time to react? Can you shift your own rhythm in a split second?

The build-up to Bruno’s record-tying assist was brilliant. Changes of tempo from direct vertical passes into one-touch small-space play. Mainoo’s detail within that combo is great. Extra touch, draws defenders in for more space, then dinks it through.

I know going 1v1 vs Summerville is never easy. But Dalot, my guy… we’ve got to work on them toes a bit more.

Elliott Anderson “stunned” 3 City players with that outside-foot pass. Body orientation facing wide influencing: • Foden not closing the center. • Nunes pushing onto the LB. • Dias holding instead of closing CHO. Turned a 3v3 into a 2v1 in his favor.
