The arrogance is actually unbelievable. A few weeks ago Ferran Torres was publicly saying that if Barcelona wanted him to stay, they needed to “show him they wanted him.” Barça made their decision, didn’t beg him to stay, and allowed him to leave. Now, barely after walking through the door at PSG, he’s already being asked about the difference and his answer is “the quality of the players.” The same Barcelona dressing room you’re throwing shade at contained players you shared a dressing room with for SPAIN too. Joan García, Eric García, Cubarsí, Gavi, Pedri, Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal were not just your Barça teammates, they were literally alongside you in the Spain squad that became WORLD CHAMPIONS. So what exactly are you trying to say about their “quality” now that you wear a different shirt? Because before questioning the quality around you, maybe have a look at this video. These are YOUR misses. YOUR wasted sitters. YOUR huge chances thrown away. YOUR moments in important Barcelona games when teammates created opportunities for you and you simply didn’t finish them. It’s very easy to arrive at PSG and suddenly pretend you were being held back by the “quality” at Barcelona. Much harder to look at yourself and admit how many times Barcelona’s quality actually created chances that you failed to turn into goals. Barça gave you opportunities, minutes, patience and teammates capable of putting chances on a plate for you. And now those same players suddenly aren’t good enough because Barcelona didn’t spend the summer begging you to stay? You wanted them to “show you they wanted you.” They showed you their answer. They moved on. And if you really want to start a conversation about player quality, then your own compilation is probably the worst possible place for you to start.

I genuinely cannot understand the silence from FC Barcelona. No post at all. Lionel Messi has just said goodbye to the Argentina national team, one of the most emotional moments of his career, and somehow the club he gave practically his entire life to has nothing to say? Nothing? Bayern Munich posted about Messi. The NBA posted about Messi. Clubs, athletes and organizations from completely different sports and different parts of the world have acknowledged this moment. But FC Barcelona, HIS club, remains silent. It is embarrassing, disrespectful and honestly heartbreaking. We are talking about someone who arrived in Barcelona as a child and grew up wearing this badge. Barcelona was never simply one of the clubs Messi played for. This was his home. This was where he became a man, where he built his family, where his children grew up, and where he spent the biggest part of his life. He gave Barça everything. He gave us memories that will stay with us forever, some of the happiest nights of our lives, and moments that defined an entire generation of Barcelona supporters. And even after being forced to leave the club in tears when he never wanted to go, his love for Barcelona never disappeared. Whenever Messi speaks about Barça, you can still feel it. He still talks about Barcelona as home, still speaks about the club with affection, and his family still has a deep connection with the city. Barça fans certainly never stopped loving him either. That is why this silence is so infuriating. We are talking about someone who gave more than two decades of his life to this institution and became one of the biggest symbols Barcelona has ever had. The absolute minimum on a day like this was to acknowledge him, show him some respect and affection, and recognize what this moment means to millions of culés around the world. If Bayern Munich can recognize the importance of this moment, if the freaking NBA can recognize the importance of this moment, how can FC BARCELONA not? There are moments when football should be bigger than politics, presidents, boards or whatever personal issues may exist behind closed doors. This is one of those moments. Messi’s love for Barça never disappeared, and the supporters know that better than anyone. Nothing can erase the little boy who arrived from Rosario, the teenager who grew up at La Masia, the years of joy, the magical nights, the celebrations, the tears, the impossible moments and everything he made us feel while wearing this shirt. For an entire generation, Messi is part of what Barcelona means to us. Some of us grew up with him, some discovered football because of him, some fell in love with Barça because of him, and some watched him with their parents, siblings and friends, building memories around those nights that will stay with them forever. That connection is bigger than any president, any board and any personal issue. So seeing organizations with absolutely no connection to Messi acknowledging this emotional chapter of his life while his own football home says nothing is absolutely disgraceful. He does not deserve this silence. Not after everything he gave this club, not after how deeply he loved this club, and not after everything he still means to millions of culés around the world. Lionel Messi will always be part of Barcelona. He will always be one of us. The people running FC Barcelona should be ashamed that on a day like this, everyone else seems to understand what Messi means except the club that should understand it more than anyone. Messi deserved far, far better than this disgraceful silence. 💔

If Barça had won this game, they would've won La Liga. But sure, keep telling us Barça were the ones benefiting from "Negreira." Now watch what actually happened in one of the most decisive games of the 2006/07 season. Barcelona and Real Madrid both finished on 76 points, with Madrid winning La Liga on the head-to-head tiebreaker. When Ramos commits a brutal foul on Ronaldinho, the referee doesn't even show him a card. It all begins when Real Madrid open the scoring after a rebound from outside the box. A few minutes later, a young Messi responds, equalizing with a brilliant finish into the far corner that leaves Casillas helpless. Later, a Real Madrid player goes down inside the penalty area and the referee awards Madrid a penalty despite there being no contact. To make matters worse, he also sends off the Barcelona defender, even though he hadn't committed a foul. Real Madrid convert the penalty and take the lead again. In another incident, Ramos commits another heavy foul on Ronaldinho. Messi and Ronaldinho run toward the referee demanding a yellow card, but the referee tells them to calm down and refuses to book Ramos. Then, after Casillas saves a Ronaldinho effort, Messi reacts quickest to the rebound and scores again to level the match. Ronaldinho celebrates with Messi and tells him: "We'll fight until the end, little brother." The referee did not hesitate to show the Barça player a red card. Yet when a Real Madrid player brutally stamps on a Barcelona player, Deco protests and asks for a card, only for the referee to insist there is no card and not even a foul. In the 73rd minute, Ramos scores with a header to put Real Madrid ahead once again. Then, in the final minutes, Ronaldinho protects the ball against Salgado before finding Messi. Messi receives it, beats the first Madrid defender, leaves the rest of their defence helpless and completes his hat-trick with another equalizer, denying Real Madrid the victory. Messi then kisses the Barcelona badge after an unforgettable performance from the teenager. But remember, we're supposed to believe Barça were the ones getting all the refereeing favors.
