Angel Carroll calls James Talarico a “mediocre white man” who should be held accountable for—I guess—not responding to her text messages, while holding him to a standard she doesn’t seem interested in applying to Jasmine Crockett. The Congresswoman from TX-30 hasn’t endorsed Ms. Opal Lee’s granddaughter, Dione Sims, nor has she endorsed any of the candidates in Killeen. She hasn’t endorsed Letitia Plummer either. Yet somehow he’s the one who’s supposed to drop everything and answer text messages and take campaign advice. And honestly, if I saw YOU disrespecting me and plotting to ruin my reputation on TikTok Live with a gaggle of Crockett influencers during the primary, I’d ignore your texts and suggestions for how to run my winning campaign too. The cultish pick-me behavior of defending an elected representative’s ego while bashing our nominee and his team for focusing on winning a statewide election is insane.

Throughout this primary campaign I told y'all that the Honorable Congresswoman from TX-30 wasn't committed to running a serious statewide campaign. Jasmine Crockett was only focused on juicing out support in the TX Metros and the TX Piney Woods. >I said that Talarico would win by 5 points. He won by 6. >I said that although Crockett would dominate with Black voters, Talarico still outreached to our communities. I was called a liar and a coon because her supporters didn't want to hear it. >Crockett did poor outreach to Latino voters, and bragging about sitting on a tractor didn't do enough to make her seem relatable to voters in the TX Panhandle. >I said that much like Mamdani vs. Cuomo, name ID alone or banking on receiving votes from predominantly Black voters would not be enough to advance into the general election. Jasmine Crockett did not lose because of her race and gender. She lost because she took us for granted. Bar hopping while courting clout on Threads & TikTok don't win elections either.
