🧵1/4 ‘Momentum’, the knightly figure riding a motorcycle, has always held a special place in my body of work. The piece was born out of my love for dynamism and forward motion; few of my works speak so directly to the Futurists. The straight lines drawn through the composition show the expansion of raw energy. That force driven forward is still the essence of my entire practice today. ‘Momentum’ - bronze - 2021 - 21.7 x 5.5 x 7.1 inches

1/4 Prometheus at this smaller scale in wax has been a labour of love. Getting all the intricacies of line and curve has kept me engaged for weeks. In such a format I don't think I have ever reached this level of refinement. Dimensions: 10.4 x 4.9 x 11.8 inches

I have been working on this aesthetic research and development question: if a monument to space flight were ever made, what would be the best manner to capture the smoke, fire and energetic force during the process of take-off/flight. I was thinking a sort of volumetric geometry seen here in this basic mock-up. Do you see it?

Blade Runner 2049 nailed it before anyone was truly paying attention. The Memory Maker scene is the clearest visual metaphor for AI as a creative tool: extraordinary capability, but nothing without the human vision directing it.

The most contrived nonsense is made when you are creating with the expectations of other people. The focus must be on the work, the vision, and after that you let it go. The audience makes of it what they will. David Bowie said it best and it is completely true.

Moving forward with commissioned sculpture. Cleaning up the lines on the clay positive. Next stage going into hard casting wax for further shape correction, then into bronze. Influences: Vorticism, Futurism and Art Deco

It has arrived, IM7 The Culture Stone. An artistic deep dive combined with a deeply personal story of Mark Granza. Glad to see further thought and energy going into our creative sphere. IM—1776
