Islam Makhachev says Carlos Prates deserves the next title shot: "Shavkat is not fighting, Prates still fighting, still active. Morales also is good but I don't remember last time he fight. If you ask who is more deserving, I think Carlos Prates." And honestly, I agree with Islam. Prates has been more active and has done enough to earn his shot. Shavkat is coming off a long injury layoff, so I think he should get one win after his return before jumping straight into another title fight. Right now, Carlos Prates makes the most sense as the next challenger. What so you think? Who should be next?

Could this be the final fight of Islam Makhachev's career? If Islam Makhachev defeats Ian Garry, there's a real possibility he could retire from MMA. Just a few weeks ago, Islam admitted that his mother has been asking him to step away from the sport for quite some time. Khabib Nurmagomedov has also previously said that he expects Islam to retire at 35 years old. Considering Khabib's influence on Islam, that statement carries a lot of weight. Islam turns 35 this October. The only things that may have kept him competing were massive money fights against Ilia Topuria or Conor McGregor. However, Javier Mendez recently revealed that those matchups are no longer on the table. Islam has already accomplished almost everything there is to achieve, built an incredible legacy, and secured his place among the greatest fighters in MMA history. At that point, he may choose to follow the advice of both his mother and Khabib and walk away from the sport. What do you think? Is this the final fight of Islam Makhachev's legendary career?

Conor McGregor is set to return in just 14 days in what could be one of the biggest comebacks in MMA history. In his latest interview, McGregor once again directed criticism at his long time rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov. He claimed that true elite athletes grant rematches, suggesting Khabib falls short in that regard since he never agreed to a second fight with him. Over the years, there have also been reports that the UFC offered Khabib huge money to come back for a rematch with McGregor, but he turned down every offer. A rematch between McGregor and Khabib now seems highly unlikely. However, a potential clash between Conor McGregor and Islam Makhachev could serve as a kind of “revenge fight,” and Islam would likely be open to such a massive payday showdown. Javier Mendez believes Jon Jones cannot be considered the GOAT because he failed a drug test. He also believes that Islam Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov are the greatest of all time. I think the term “GOAT” itself can be interpreted in different ways. When it comes to talent and achievements, Jon Jones is undoubtedly #1. Khabib was one of the most dominant fighters we’ve ever seen. Even Conor McGregor has a strong case when it comes to his contribution to the growth and popularity of MMA. Then you have Islam Makhachev, GSP, Anderson Silva, Demetrious Johnson… The list is a long one. Who is your GOAT? 🐐
