Today, in the country's banks, ₹78,000 crore of our citizens own money is lying unclaimed. We don't know who this money belongs to, it is just lying there. Insurance companies have ₹14,000 crore, Mutual Funds have ₹3000 crore. ₹7,000 is lying in dividends. And all this money is lying unclaimed. This money belongs to the poor and middle-class people and this Government is trying to find who this money belongs to, because we want to find the rightful owner of this money. Till now, special camps have been held in around 500 districts to identify the owners of this money and we have given back several thousands of crores to them. Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman met the Russian delegation led by Mr. Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, in New Delhi, today. Both sides discussed various issues of mutual interests encompassing inter alia #investment, #banking and #finance. Both India and Russia expressed expectations of strong outcomes from the upcoming 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit scheduled to be held on December 5, 2025. The Russian First Deputy Prime Minister extended strong support to India’s upcoming chairship of BRICS. Mr. Denis Manturov was accompanied by Mr. Reshetnikov Maxim, Minister of Economic Development; Mr. Siluanov Anton, Minister of Finance; and Ms. Nabiullina Elvira, Chairman of Central Bank, among others. With over 6.5+ crore MSMEs supporting 25+ crore livelihoods, the Government of India led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is fuelling the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises growth story. The support to MSMEs from the Government of India includes: ✅ Mutual Credit Guarantee Scheme that offers 60% coverage for MSME loans up to ₹100 crore. ✅ New credit assessment model that evaluates MSMEs on cashflows, not collateral. ✅ MSME limits enhanced 2.5X for investment, 2X for turnover. ✅ Udyam-registered micro enterprises get ₹5 lakh credit cards. ✅ MUDRA Tarun limit doubled to ₹20 lakh. ✅ Bharat Trade Net simplifies documentation, reduces trade barriers. ✅ ECLGS saved 14 lakh MSMEs during COVID-19. ✅ Credit support through PM MUDRA, PM Vishwakarma, PM SVANidhi schemes. #MSMEDay

During her official visit to the United Kingdom, Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman met Rt. Hon. Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, in presence of Ms. Rachel Reeves Chancellor of Exchequer of the UK, and discussed trade and investment, and issues of mutual interest between the two countries. Earlier in the day, FM Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman and Chancellor Ms. Rachel Reeves co-chaired the 13th Economic and Financial Dialogue in London, reaffirming commitment to continue collaboration in financial services sector, FinTech and Digital economy and between the respective regulatory bodies; collaboration at bilateral and multilateral fora to address mutual and global economic issues.
