Fire and Fury Corps congratulates Army Medical Corps officers for their performance in the Pangong Tso Frozen Lake Marathon 2026. Besides their medical duties, Major Deepak Kumar (14th overall), Major K. Suryakiran and Capt Sivaguru have completed the grueling 42 km full marathon on the world’s highest frozen course, in extreme sub zero temperatures and rarefied high altitude conditions. Moreover, Lieutenant Colonel Ritesh Sharma, Major Sahil Sharma, Havildar LR Singh, Naik Dijin V Dinesh have completed 10 km in a record time representing a strong contingent of Army Medical Corps. Point 4875 : A Battle of Firepower, Fortitude and Fearless Resolve 🇮🇳 #OnThisDay | 04 Jul 1999 The Battle of Point 4875 (Mushkoh Valley) stands among the fiercest battles of the Kargil War. On 04 Jul 1999, the brave soldiers of 17 JAT and 13 JAMMU & KASHMIR RIFLES launched a determined assault against well-entrenched enemy positions in treacherous terrain. By 05 Jul 1999, Point 4875 Top had been secured. Supported by 2 NAGA, 12 MAHAR and 21 PARA (SF), the troops continued relentless operations, culminating in the capture of the entire Point 4875 Complex on 08 Jul 1999. During the night of 04/05 Jul 1999, Rfn Sanjay Kumar, PVC, displayed extraordinary gallantry and was awarded the Param Vir Chakra. Fighting alongside him, Rfn Shyam Singh, VrC (Posthumous) of 13 JAMMU & KASHMIR RIFLES displayed exceptional courage under intense enemy fire. The relentless and precise fire delivered by the Gunners of 41 Field Regiment, 197 Field Regiment, 315 Field Regiment, 108 Medium Regiment, 139 Medium Regiment, 158 Medium Regiment, 253 Medium Regiment, 1889 Light Regiment, 244 Heavy Mortar Regiment and 212 Rocket Regiment, under the coordinated fire plan "Fight Clever", prepared by Col NA Subramanian, YSM, Commanding Officer, 315 Field Regiment, played a decisive role in enabling the Infantry to achieve victory.
