Kargil Vijay Diwas 2026 #OnThisDay #02June1999 At Point 5299, courage echoed louder than enemy shelling. Under the leadership of Major Vikram Singh Shekhawat of 4 JAT and Capt P V Vikram of 141 Field Regiment, operations were launched to secure the strategic height despite intense enemy fire. In the line of duty, Capt P V Vikram made the supreme sacrifice, while Major Vikram Singh Shekhawat was critically injured. Their courage, sacrifice and devotion to duty remain a timeless testament to the spirit of the Indian Army. *Pangong Frozen Lake Marathon 2026* Fire and Fury Corps proudly supported the 4th Pangong Frozen Lake Marathon 2026 at the world’s highest frozen lake, Pangong Tso (14,000 ft). Braving sub-zero temperatures and thin air, over 450 runners conquered the icy terrain across categories ranging from 5 km to the full marathon. #IndianArmy - Always a helping hand' Soldiers of Trishul Division, deployed on Changla axis, at around 17, 500ft in #Ladakh, cleared a traffic jam of more than 200 vehs and 150 bikers, stranded in the sudden snow storm and blizzard on 30 May. A Helping Hand to Stranded Tourists Responding to a distress call from police at #Tangtse late night on 12 May, soldiers of Trishul Division swung into action & rescued nine tourists including two ladies in two vehicles stranded in heavy snowfall & bone chilling cold at the icy heights of Chang La by midnight. The tourists with low SPO2 levels were provided immediate medical care & refreshments at the #IndianArmy Post and further escorted to Leh. MED EVAC SP TO CIV AUTH Today at around 11 am , a civil school bus carrying 27 passengers lost control and fell in a gorge approx 5 Km near Durbuk, #Ladakh. The accident was noticed by military personnel deployed in the area who immediately rushed to the accident site and evacuated the victims. All 27 passengers (including six fatal) were initially evacuated to a nearby Military Hospital & Primary Health Centre at Tangste. Indian Army Humanitarian Assistance: Ladakh On 04 Sep 2025, during a mountaineering expedition, two South Korean nationals fell critically ill near Kongmarula, an isolated peak of Ladakh. Army Aviation helicopters of Fire & Fury Corps executed a night Casualty Evacuation from an unprepared site at an altitude of 17000 feet, to ensure timely evacuation of the mountaineers to SNM Hospital, Leh for further treatment.
