In Delhi's Madanpur Khadar area, an 18-year-old Muslim woman, Nisha Parveen, allegedly lost her life at the hands of her husband, Ankit. According to her family, Ankit had brought four of his associates with him, and they allege that all of them physically assaulted her. Police have arrested the main accused, Nisha's husband Ankit, in connection with the case. However, family members claim that four to five individuals were involved in the assault and have raised questions over the arrest of only one accused so far. Nisha's brother alleged that the police registered the FIR only after the family staged a protest by placing her body on the road outside Kalindi Kunj police station. He further claimed that had the girl been Hindu and the boy Muslim, the authorities would have acted more swiftly, alleging that an encounter might have taken place and demolition action would have already been initiated.

A 26-year-old man, identified as Tarun, was allegedly beaten to death in Delhi’s Uttam Nagar JJ Colony during Holi celebrations on March 4. However, locals, while speaking with FOEJ Media, said that there had been a dispute between the two sides for several years. According to residents, the incident began when a woman from the accused family, who lives in Tarun’s neighborhood, was passing through the area while some of Tarun’s relatives were playing Holi. They allegedly threw a balloon filled with dirty water at her. The woman reportedly objected, saying that she observes religious practices such as fasting and offering namaz, and questioned how such an act could be done to her. Amid the argument, Tarun allegedly came out of his house and misbehaved with the woman. The woman then returned home and informed her brother about the incident. Locals claim that before her brother could arrive at the spot, Tarun had already called several men from his gym, who allegedly beat them with rods. Following the incident, tensions have escalated in Uttam Nagar’s JJ Colony. The area’s main market, where most shops are owned by members of the Muslim community, has reportedly remained closed for the past four days. Shopkeepers fear that if they reopen their shops, members of Bajrang Dal might vandalize the market or assault them. Residents also claim that several Muslim families have left their homes due to fear in the aftermath of the incident.
