You might actually remember new Detroit Lions DE Eric O'Neill for his excessive archer celebration that sparked a dust-up between James Madison and Western Kentucky back in 2024. He twice went full Legolas — rapid-fire, shield-surfing at Helm’s Deep mode 🏹📺🍿

2023 Blake Miller (#78) vs. Rueben Bain Jr. (#44) Providing the other 10 snaps where Miller and Bain were matched up from three years ago — beyond the screenshot play below. That screenshot play accounted for one of just two sacks Miller allowed across 539 pass-blocking snaps as a true sophomore. Worth noting: screenshots of football plays are often misleading, lack context, and are generally unhelpful. That rep came 2,200+ snaps ago, and Miller has made significant year-over-year strides — it’s not reflective of the player the Detroit Lions selected in Round 1.

Detroit Lions fifth-round WR Kendrick Law was initially my biggest surprise from the Lions’ 2026 NFL Draft class. It stopped being a surprise after watching his run-blocking reps over the last three years. He’s one of the best run-blocking WR prospects I’ve watched. While Kentucky underutilized that part of his game in its rinky-dink offense — using him more in motion, on ball fakes, and on screen-action deception — Alabama unleashed him as a blocking weapon. The new “Tush Push” rule, is proposing a 10-yard penalty for any offensive teammate pushing or pulling a ball carrier, anywhere on the field — it would eliminate plays like this iconic David Montgomery run/surf. Plays that make football uniquely fun. Linemen live for this.

I’m requiring you to watch Penei Sewell bury Isaiah McGuire and then celebrate with Jahmyr Gibbs in the end zone at half-speed. Best run blocker in football, and it’s not up for debate. Outstanding execution by the entire right side — everyone bought in and did their job.

Would you look at these two off-script, on-the-run throws from Jared Goff under pressure. Would you just look at them?

Lions rookie DT Tyleik Williams posted an 8.9% pressure rate, ranking third among rookie defensive tackles this season and 12th among rookie DTs over the last five seasons. His 9.3% pass rush win rate also ranked third among rookie DTs this year. Williams flashed increased pass rush prowess in the back half of the season.

Impressive play here from Kerby Joseph. Aligned closer to the line of scrimmage with the Bengals in 12 personnel on first down, he bites on the play action but quickly recovers to make a play on the ball — forcing an incompletion on not the best throw on the move.

Lions DT Alim McNeill created consistent interior pressure in Week 13 — his 21.9% pressure rate led all defensive tackles (9th among all players). He also tied a season-high 18.8% pass rush win rate (also hit in Week 12), ranking sixth among DTs, and set a season-high with 7 total pressures.
