It's 21 years since these 20 apartments in Macroom, Co. Cork were complete They've never been used Shame on owner Dunnes Stores & shame on Cork County Council & Government for allowing this in housing emergency This is why we need compulsory rental & custodian squatting in #DerelictIreland

RIP Bishop Lucey Park Only green space in city centre is no longer a green space Seriously how did this cost €7million? Its depressing & says Cork says f*ck biodiversity & climate Ironically the one redeeming feature is that the railings & gates are gone to make it thoroughfare

I really struggle with this one 6 out of 7 homes longterm boarded up in this lovely old terrace Loads more homes boarded up in village Criminal behaviour with people dying on the streets Have no doubt, housing crisis is state enabled vandalism Chapelizod, Dublin #DerelictIreland

Only the wealthy can afford to sit on empty properties A walk down Adelaide St in historic Cork city centre is another stark reminder of this, the area is being destroyed Have no doubt hoarding properties in a housing emergency is akin to hoarding food in famine #DerelictIreland

When it comes to housing supply there is a elephant in the room Last year CSO found 65,000 homes empty for 2 yrs, using ESB data, yet for same period less than 3,000 paid the vacant homes tax So thats around 62,000 houses waiting for someone to call them home Me at the Oireachtas
