God of War Laufey's PS5 release date is effectively "coming soon, wishlist now." That would usually put it on track to release between October - December 2026. I suspect PlayStation just wants to give Wolverine the pre-order spotlight for now. And the latest I could see Laufey is Feb/Mar. 2027 to keep it inside their fiscal year. Jason Schreier of Bloomberg also seems to hint inside knowledge that it "isn't years away."

Unscripted vent. Exhausted by … predictable drama gamer reactions over Highguard “You gotta be pretty dumb to compare this to Concord and think the GAMEPLAY is anything like it.” Can we go back to playing games before placing 50/50 bets on their doom and trashing the artists’ vision?

Highguard’s Instagram shared a few snippets of early impressions from its creator event. Players said: - Feel of gunplay is a favorite - Different than battle royales or extraction - none of those things and all of those things - Pretty fun; like BRs but constant action - Gonna be super competetive - Fast-paced FPS - Had to learn the "Game Mode" - Unsure if anything quite like it - Feels smooth and familiar - Defense-based; "pre-shieldbreaker thing" is fast - The horse is most liked; never played where the mount was like that - Amazing, fun. Best parts of Apex with movement and gun style - Whether 5 minutes or 30 minutes, it's constant action

Metroid Dread released nearly 5 years ago. We're due for a follow-up... Enter "Metroid Ravenous." A Brazil Ministry of Justice filing leaked the title's potential existence and target for 2026. This line's up after years rumors and speculation that MercurySteam was working on another 2D entry. Metroid Dread released October 8, 2021 and received high acclaim alongside many 90%+ ratings. Marathon added new cosmetics to its store. Assassin gets a camouflage-themed set. There is a decent number of skins to earn in the game... ...But for a $40 game that cost hundreds of millions, I'm surprised there aren't more options, and bolder ones at that. Feels like customization and showing it off in-game has a ways to go. Especially for matchmaking and post-match I'd love to see more flair.

Showing Highguard user reviews by playtime (1 hr) is not glazing the game. All the numbers were there. I never reported that people who played Highguard more are more likely to enjoy it. Don't twist my words into your personal take. Full response 29:00

Reviews are in and Saros looks to be another exclusive hit for PS5. Today is also the 5th anniversary of Returnal. Sony-owned Finnish studio Housemarque brings more bullet hell and roguelite action -- self-described as "gameplay first." It also brings lead star Rahul Kohli. Are you jumping in? Bungie, the creator of Halo (2001) and Destiny (2014) is finally set to reveal gameplay for its next, big endeavor -- a PvP extraction shooter. Marathon looks to retain its highly stylized neon sci-fi look. Are you excited to see it on April 12th at 10AM PT?

It feels like Metroid Prime 4 is coming in for a soft launch. The franchise keeps getting a backseat. Nintendo's just like: "meh, oh by the way here's some new gameplay." The dream: it would have been Switch 2 launch exclusive and propped up as something special from Nintendo. Squishing a new gameplay reveal between a bunch of "final" Switch 1 releases just feels lame. I get the economics. It's not a system seller, and performs modestly; and, why not give it the best shot possible across 100MM+ consoles (Switch 1 & 2)? But Samus should be treated like a star property. I'm not surprised at all. That said... I love me some Metroid Prime adventure and puzzles. New psychic powers should be fun. It's easy to lose confidence, but I suspect Retro will still delivery an awesome, reliable sequel after all these years.
