Not only is it a kick in the teeth to have received the judge's decision, but the family has also been ordered to pay for the court costs for the other side as well as their own! The Duggans are already in $1 million debt, they barely scrape enough money together to pay for petrol and feed the family. Dan has lived in Australia since 2002. He was a part time instructor for an international flight school instructing civilian test pilots in South Africa. There were no aircraft carriers in South Africa, and Dan worked minimal hours in 1960s planes, certainly not the hundreds of hours to teach and certify a pilot in landing on an aircraft carrier. Why is the Australian government agreeing to send an Australian citizen to a foreign country to defend himself on allegations that weren’t a crime in his home country? Australia has not, and will not look at the case against Dan, even though the indictment was cobbled together, came after a special extension to the statute of limitations and the US - specific charges are against an Australian citizen, not a US one. The injustice is baffling. The Attorney-General could free Dan and reject the extradition. Please support the Duggan family in their fight for justice and Australian sovereignty:

Dan is an Australian citizen. He has lived in Australia since 2002 and became an Australian citizen in 2012. There are no Australian charges against him. The extradition charge is completely flawed. He took a job in South Africa in 2012 and worked a mere 18 hours training civilian test pilots. He reported all his earnings to the ATO. Why would the Australian government send an Australian citizen to be at the mercy of a foreign government? Please help this family in their fight to bring Dan home:

Dan Duggan is an Australian citizen who broke no Australian law. He worked a short contract as a part time flight instructor at a renowned flight school in South Africa. He taught a few sessions in a 1960s aircraft. No-one else has been prosecuted or charged. He has been locked up for over 3 years in a maximum security prison. He spent 19 months in solitary confinement. The US want him extradited, despite not being a US citizen. They have frozen the sale of his property. The Australian government has allowed this to happen. The Duggans have appealed his extradition approval at the Federal Court at great financial expense. While you’re deciding on which gadget to purchase in the Black Friday sales this weekend, give a thought to the Duggans who have been struggling for 3 years in the absence of Dan. Saffrine has been trying to keep the family afloat on one part-time wage. The constant barrage of day to day bills, on top of outside costs of visiting Dan and keeping in contact with him in jail. The family was not offered legal aid, so they have had to source and pay for their own legal. Not to mention the costs to repair damage vandals continue to make on their seized south coast home. With Christmas right around the corner, the family’s thoughts should be what is Santa going to bring me? Rather than, will I get to see my Dad? Or how am I going to pay for all this? Dan Duggan is an Australian citizen who has not committed a crime and yet he has been in NSW prisons since October 2022. Dan was an Australian citizen at the time the work was undertaken, but his own government is allowing US extraterritoriality – Australia has lost its sovereignty #Enoughisenough. Dan Duggan is a sole Australian citizen, with an Australian wife and six Australian children. The US want to lock him up for 65 years. The charges against him are clearly politically motivated and unfounded. He faces no Australian charges. The former Attorney-General could have stopped this, instead he approved Dan’s extradition and now the family needs to fund a Federal Court challenge. It has been a month since Dan’s hearing in the Federal Court. As the family and legal team await a decision, it is a good reminder that the Australian government could free Dan at any time. Saffrine wrote to Michelle Rowland in May – she still has received no response. This Aussie family continues to struggle to pay for legal fees and the cost of living. The US blocked the sale of their property and have frozen the asset. They cannot get legal aid. Meanwhile, the Australian government sits back and lets this blatant injustice continue to occur. When is enough, enough? Dan Duggan, Aussie father of 6 has been held in maximum security for over 38 months, more than 19 of those spent in solitary confinement. He faces no Australian charges and the US-specific 13 year-old allegations against him don’t stack up. As his family awaits a judge’s decision on his extradition appeal, it is important to remember that this is a real Aussie family whose lives have been torn apart. Friday's Federal Court hearing contained an extraordinary statement from government lawyers that should have all Australia's worried. #NotMyAustralia ABC reports that lawyers for Australian citizen and father of six #FreeDanDuggan told the Federal Court the extradition should be void because the alleged action was not a crime in Australia at the time. In response lawyers for the Attorney General told the Court that was not Australia's concern - it was for the United States to determine guilt or innocence of this Australian citizen. Glenn Kolomeitz is an international lawyer, human rights advocate and veteran, who questions the fairness of Dan's extradition, echoing his family's arguments. Dan has been locked up in maximum-security prison for 1020 days now. It's taking a huge toll on Dan's, and his family's mental health. Enough is enough, it is time to bring Dan home.
