The WA state auditor got into a heated argument with a journalist during an interview after refusing to take any sort of interest in flagged daycare fraud. From unDivided's Brandi Kruse: "Anybody should be able to watch that exchange and have some very serious concerns about whether the auditor's office even cares." So the whole daycare fraud situation is either (as Brandi Kruse puts it): Embarrassment over the failure to put any controls in place to protect taxpayer money. or Covering up the fraud because it links back to the Washington Democrats by way of support and political donations. Regardless of which one of those it is, what we do know is that the WA state Auditor deserves a vote of No Confidence. And after that exchange with the journalist... The Auditor's newly launched 'Division of Special Investigations' seems more like a way to keep the heat off, rather than looking into the fraud, waste, and abuse of millions of our tax dollars. Time to bring in the Feds. Latest Seattle restaurant to close: Sam's Tavern in Capitol Hill. The owner cited labor costs as the number factor saying: “I believe that we should pay employees more, but I also think that there should be a tip credit. You're really making it challenging for operators to want to come back in and do anything in Seattle because there's not a lot of upside, and there's a lot more risk now with trying to do something.” Not sure he could not be any clearer than that.. Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson bombed her interview with Fox 13's Hana Kim, at a recent civic event: ❌She refused to answer if she regrets calling for a boycott of Starbucks. ❌She refused to answer if she supports dissolving KCRHA after multiple follow up questions. ❌She refused to answer what her plan is for 12th and Jackson. ❌She blamed the drug and mental heath crisis on 'housing costs'. ❌She refused to respond to L.A. mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt's assertion that she would welcome drug addicts from California. ❌She refused to answer multiple questions on what it would take for her to put drug treatment first ❌She blamed the President of the United States for missing her promised goal of 500 tiny homes before the World Cup. ❌She refused to take responsibility for anything... Crime is not just down in Federal Way; it has essentially halved compared to last year. But why? From Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrell; "The ability to pursue stolen cars, coupled with the re-initiation of the drug laws in this state...I think the two of those combined have given law enforcement the tools that they really need." If you will recall, Olympia Democrats banned police pursuits and decriminalized drugs in 2021 during the pandemic, when nobody was looking. In 2023, drug possession was made illegal again, but only after a rare failed vote in the legislature and immense public pushback. Police pursuits wouldn't be restored until 2024, when Initiative 2113 was overwhelmingly passed by Olympia lawmakers...after it came out the data used to ban the pursuits was essentially falsified. The results of rolling back those two Progressive policies are now measurable with data (and lower crime). Imagine that. It's official: Washington state is #1 in the United States for retail theft. And Governor Bob Ferguson vetoed a fix that was working. In 2025, the legislature earmarked $1 Million to King, Snohomish, and Spokane Counties to combat retail theft. King County used that money to hire a dedicated prosecutor, who filed 142 retail theft cases in 6 months, which is nearly triple than previously. When the funding needed to be renewed, the legislature earmarked another $500k to the program. Governor Bob Ferguson came in and line item vetoed it under the false guise of "budget constraints", while also increasing the budget to $80,000,000,000. That's right. Bob Ferguson signed a massive budget with BILLIONS in taxpayer giveaways to his friends and cronies, but couldn't spare half a million to make our lives better. A male substitute teacher who claims to be 'non-binary' was allowed into a girl's locker room at a Kitsap Central SD middle school. After an uproar by parents, the district made a statement that it was a 'no harm, no foul' mistake and that the locker room was "not in use at that time." Kids and parents say otherwise. Over 200 drug addicts, murderers, sex traffickers, and vagrants live in the massive Olympia homeless camp known as "The Jungle". KOMO's Jeremy Harris calls it "Shocking. Easily one of the worst homeless encampments in years." It recently came into the public eye (again) after a missing teenager from Arizona was rescued by federal agents there. The camp may sound familiar because last year, it was the scene of human burn pits where homicide victims were incinerated. But worst of all... The progressive Mayor of Olympia Dontae Payne and the City Council have no intentions on taking action and clearing the camp. But you can take action today and call the Mayor at 360.753.8447. Copper theft is somehow getting even worse in King County, which has already been #1 in the nation for a couple years now. This time, a Ballard resident had his EV Charger cable cut and stolen at his house...for the third time. He also reports his neighbors dealing with the same repeat thefts. To add insult to injury; the thieves pulled right up during daylight hours, snip snip, and drove off in their old red Ford Ranger that should be easy to spot, if cops were looking. The escalation to residential copper theft comes as the West Seattle Bridge recently experienced a total blackout due to copper theft. Sound Transit Light Rail has also had multiple shut downs due to copper theft. And power and internet have been repeatedly knocked out to King County residents because (you guessed it)...copper theft. But worse of all; Olympia could care less to actually do something about it. "When you are 87 Million dollars in the hole, you can't just pretend money grows on trees." In an open act of displeasure; the Seattle City Council is now insisting Mayor Katie Wilson block off N. Seattle neighborhoods from Aurora Avenue "this week". They are even going as far as threatening legislation to allow Seattle Police to install barriers themselves...without the Mayor's approval. The City Council is now also working with King County Prosecutor to further crack down on the sex trafficking causing most of the problems. All of this comes after hundreds of residents marched on Aurora Saturday night, demanding change from a mayor that couldn't be bothered to show up for her city. Washington's new income tax is the final straw for Jon Bodwell, owner of Delta Camshaft. Jon is the 2nd generation owner of this camshaft modification shop that has been in Tacoma for 48 years, but is selling the (graffiti covered) building and moving everything to Arizona. He cites "crime, taxes, and business climate" as reasons he is leaving, and frankly who can blame him? If a business cannot make a profit in Washington state or has to deal with a hostile government, they are going to go where the grass is greener. This follows a record breaking 100,000+ sign ins to oppose the income tax bill during session. The so called 'millionaires' income tax might be the single most unpopular law in recent history, as Washingtonians of all backgrounds understand that this will eventually be a tax on everyone if it is allowed to stand. Now comes the messaging war where everyone will need to vote YES on I-645 to repeal the income tax. The IRS data for Massachusetts, which enacted a similar higher income bracket tax of 4% suggest the answer is... Yes. Thousands of them did, in fact.
