500 women a year under the age of 25 getting medically unnecessary bilateral mastectomies on the NHS — in the absence of a diagnosis and without any scientific justification — is a scandal. 1,000 vaginoplasties, hormones dished out to adults after just two appointments, and even phalloplasties are now being offered. This is not ethical medicine, for anyone, of any age.
