The car was Wolverhampton-plated — licensed miles away under weaker rules, with no CCTV inside to protect her or hold the driver accountable. She was terrified. I’ve been raising the alarm for years: Wolverhampton-plated taxis are flooding our city, dodging Portsmouth’s stricter safety rules, no mandatory CCTV, lower vehicle standards, and zero local accountability. And now, yet again, someone has been left shaken and unsafe in our streets. It’s time to say enough.
