⚠️ Update on Estimated Restoration Times ⚠️ As of Saturday evening, Georgia Power has restored power to 520,000+ customers following the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene. Our crews continue to navigate treacherous conditions including extensive tree damage, widespread flooding and many road closures. As the first full day of restoration progressed today, we have determined that Hurricane Helene was the most destructive hurricane in Georgia Power history, damaging infrastructure across the state. We also understand the importance of Estimated Restoration Times (ERTs) for you and your families - we have been working as quickly as possible to generate timelines and keep you informed. These ERTs are not a guess, but represent the most accurate estimate that we can make based on our in the field assessments. We will make every effort to beat these estimates and return power sooner than expected. New ERTs are now available for areas including Athens, Augusta, Brunswick, Clayton, Cornelia, Dublin, Gainesville, Hartwell, Hinesville, Macon, Madison, Milledgeville, Savannah, Springfield, Statesboro, Thomson, Tifton, Valdosta, Vidalia, Waycross and Waynesboro. ERTs represent the company’s expectation for 95% power restoration in the specified area. As we anticipated and announced before the arrival of the storm, restoration efforts will take multiple days into this next week. We know extended outages are inconvenient, and we truly appreciate your understanding as thousands of our team members work around the clock. Please visit our Outage Map for the latest update on our restoration process, including ERTs. We will continue to update the Outage Map, and our customers on social.

Hurricane Helene Update: From The Bucket. Our crews are continuing to work through the first day of restoration following the devastating effects of #Helene. We are continuing to bring more resources from outside of our system and currently have 14,000+ personnel engaged in response - more than many other major hurricanes. So far, we have managed to restore over 250,000 customers, and are continuing to work across the state navigating flooded/closed roads and the conditions. There are updated estimated restoration times available on our outage map for multiple communities across Georgia. Additional evaluation is occurring as areas are accessible across southern, coastal and eastern Georgia, where communities experienced hurricane force winds leading to extensive damage. New ERTs will be posted to our Outage Map as they are available. Please visit for more information. Thank you and please stay safe.

Important info from our CEO Kim Greene today in our Storm Center. Hurricane Helene is expected to impact Georgia beginning tonight and into tomorrow morning. Although we have been preparing for days, and have more than 10,000 personnel on the ground and ready to respond as soon as it is safe to do, we expect that this storm’s high winds and heavy rains will result in widespread and perhaps extended outages across the state. Please make a plan now, and keep safety first throughout this storm. #GAWX #hurricane #helene #hurricanehelene

Our crews are continuing to work to restore power after Hurricane Helene. We wanted to answer your questions on what assessing damage means and the time that it takes our damage assessors to work. Know that our efforts will continue throughout the night. We have a small team that operates out of our Storm Center in Atlanta to help move thousands of team members efficiently for you. Jason is one of the leaders of this group and will talk more about what assessing conditions means. This is a critical step in our process that allows us to fully evaluate the damage, with the hardest hit areas. We thank our customers for their patience as we work around the clock to get their power restored. For more information, visit
