Yesterday, Putin, dressed in military uniform, allegedly made a rare visit to the front line, to one of the auxiliary command posts. In reality, it was a film set inside a bunker. As we can see, they have a lot of props in that bunker: 😅 A camouflage net was hung inside the building. 😅 The flooring, lighting, and acoustics all look like those of a studio. I wonder how many times they rehearsed it?

Putin's order to start strikes on Ukrainian energy system are definitely not a reaction to President Zelenskyy's statement that Russia's skies are no longer safe. Russia started its strikes on our energy system back in 2022, it launches them every year and has planned to launch more all along. Escalation is indeed taking place. This is due to increased capacities for strikes both on the Ukrainian and the Russian sides. The new technologies are changing the war. Ukraine has significantly advanced our technological capacity and started launching strikes deep inside Russia that can become asymmetrical with time. Neither Russia nor Ukraine have not reached complete exhaustion of not being able to wage the war as of now. The key difference is that Ukrainians have been living within a war during all these years, and the Russians have largely been living beyond the war. If the Russian air traffic is paralyzed and the main airports would be closed that will impact not just Russia's logistics and economy but definitely the mental state of the Russians, as well. Russia had a "social agreement": Putin can wage the war but in such a way that large cities, starting with Moscow and St Petersburg, can live as if no war is happening. This agreement has not been working since the spring. Putin cannot guarantee security and has allowed to bring the war to Russia's territory.

Lukashenko was urgently summoned to meet with Putin. It will be interesting if, immediately after this urgent visit to Moscow, Lukashenko suddenly makes an unplanned trip to Beijing. The visit to Moscow comes amid increased Russian attacks on Kyiv, following CIA Director Ratcliffe’s visit to Moscow and amid accelerated construction of a military base and access roads in Belarus, directly near the border with Ukraine. Of course, Putin will discuss the war with Lukashenko. But Lukashenko will agree to allow his territory to be used for an attack on Ukraine and the Baltic states only if China tells him to do so. So far, nothing indicates that this will happen, so Lukashenko will resort to "escalation" in the information space. 📹: Lukashenko called Ukraine a "shared problem" for Russia and Belarus.
