Nearly 100,000 people have been evacuated from their homes near Reno Nevada, because of the hawk fire. Containment is 0% and acreage burned is more than 15,000. They will be assessing how many homes have burned. We are in the heart of wildfire season and nearly 85% of wildfires are started by humans, mostly accidental but still when you see this forecast it’s important to remember it’s very dry, when you get a breeze of even 15 to 25 mph that can spread wildfires quickly. Relative humidity dropping tomorrow to 20% or less..

The Ross Fire has burned more than 80,000 acres (this is about 1.5 hours west of Fort Worth), new evacs and school closures as they fight the fire through heat advisories. Meanwhile, explosive fire behavior possible Southern California where even Los Angeles could hit 100° today.

Slowest evacuation ever!!! 😉grateful for the The Florida Aquarium who let us watch the evacuation of coral/moving animals to higher ground ahead of #Milton— like the sloth (it was a slow evacuation) and Africa penguins. Keeping the animals safe from surge and wind is their goal!
