"And It’s so infuriating that not only do they not get care. But lets just talk about the names that they label women that are either depressed or have hormonal imbalances. They call them baby blues. Do you think for a second If a man had erectile dysfunction they'd call it penis blues? No! Because it minimizes what you're suffering from! & we're here to change that on behalf of Lindsay!" Dr. Jennifer Tufts testified that during her appointment with Lindsay Clancy on 1/23, she found her insight to be poor. Dr. Tufts explained that "it had to do with her over attribution" of her symptoms to medications, like believing Seroquel (quetiapine) made her depressed - when "in reality, she was just depressed." However, just a month earlier (12/21), when Lindsay tried to enter the Rhode Island Women & Infants Partial Hospitalization Program, she was told she was "not suitable" because her depression was "more pharmacologically induced than purely depressive." What’s wild is that the jury hasn't even heard this. The prosecution brought up the program during Lindsay’s arraignment and questioned Patrick Clancy about it. But when defense attorney Kevin Reddington tried to ask Patrick about it on cross, the state objected - claiming they didn't even have a copy of the Rhode Island medical records. 🤔

Reddington: "Cruz knows that he was crushed. He doesn't have a case. He doesnt have to stand here & say that he’s advocating on behalf of the victims & then look down to see what their names are" "Cora, Dawson & Callan. Because I know their names. I dont have to look down to a piece of paper & find out what their names are."

Not sure which statement made by Jennifer Sprague is the worst one but this was definitely in the top 5! "So what she was writing, even when she asked if she had a lawyer, made sense given the situation, she wasnt writing is there a unicorn in the corner?"

It seems Jennifer Sprague got a little laugh out of her behavior today. She might want to revisit day one of the trial and review Patrick Clancy’s testimony.

This 16 minute Ted talk by Rachael Watters about her own experience with Postpartum Psychosis is such a good watch! Might be helpful for some of the people watching the Lindsay Clancy trial to listen to someones who actually lived it. Someone who knows how lucky she is that her husband is a physician. YouTube link in the comments 🫶🏻 "I began to lose touch with reality, but I didn’t tell my husband about the deeply disturbing thoughts I was having, because I was afraid that he would think that I was unsafe to be around the kids if I did." "Remembering the next part of the story is like trying to recall pieces of a dream upon awakening. My husband and I were out for a run, and I suddenly stopped and turned to him and said, 'I have to go home right now and say goodbye to the kids.' My husband said, 'Why?' And I replied, 'Because I’m going to kill them.'" "The symptoms may present in a waxing and waning fashion, which means that the woman can appear normal and lucid in between the psychotic symptoms. Postpartum psychosis is treatable. A treatment plan usually includes medications, sleep aids, short-term psychiatric hospitalization, and counseling. The tragedy of postpartum psychosis is when women don’t share the true thoughts and images going through their minds because they fear the negative repercussions that may come from doing so. What if they take my kids away? What if they lock me up?" "Insomnia. Sleep deprivation can cause a psychotic break, and there’s evidence to suggest that severe sleep deprivation may be a trigger for postpartum psychosis."
