SCOUT repeatedly escapes shelter, sneaks into nursing home and gets ADOPTED! 😂❤️🐾 BELLAIRE #MI — He’d had enough of being at the animal shelter, so Scout the dog climbed over one tall fence and then another, crossed a busy highway in the darkness, entered the automatic doors of a nursing home down the road, walked unnoticed into the lobby, hopped onto a couch, curled into a ball and quietly went to sleep for the night. An astonished nurse there found him the next morning. She called Antrim County Animal Control, whose shelter happens to be just down the road. And they discovered that he'd escaped from there the night before. Scout was a stray mutt. He had no identity, no history. The shelter staff gave him his new name, but otherwise they knew nothing about him, though they noticed he had the distinct demeanor of an abused dog. Somebody apparently once shot him too, with BBs or birdshot, because his jowl still had some kind of round pellets embedded in it. You couldn’t see them, but you could feel them if he let you touch him. The sheriff came and took him back to the shelter. But a few nights later, there was Scout, back on that same couch in the nursing home lobby. Somehow he again scaled a 10-foot chain-link fence, then a 6-foot solid privacy fence, crossed a highway without getting run over, entered the front door unnoticed, jumped onto the same couch as before and made himself at home for the night. The staff formally adopted him. Suddenly, the nursing home had its own pet. And the residents were delighted. Scout has free rein at Glacier Hill, which houses about 20 seniors. He wanders the halls at will, lies down wherever he wishes and visits residents whenever the mood strikes him. He learned how to get into their rooms by jumping up and using his paw to pull down on door handles. And he knows which residents keep dog biscuits in their walkers to give to him.

Senior WALTER returned HOME!! ❤️🐶😭 In Manchester City Centre Police (GMP) Greater Manchester Police kennels for 2 1/2 YEARS!! From Save Our Seized Dogs Put BSL To Sleep UK #UK: ❤️ WELCOME HOME WALTER ❤️ We're not crying you are, this is such a heart wrenching reunion with elderly boy Walter after 2.5 years of being in police approved kennels. Walter was the victim of a malicious accusation that he had bitten someone 3 years prior to him being seized. His accuser was someone who had a grudge against the family. As the Dangerous Dogs Act carries a reverse burden of proof, if an accusation is made then the onus is on the owner to prove it didn't happen. Often there are no independent witnesses so proving innocence is hard, when the accusation is historic it's impossible. Walter was seized by Greater Manchester Police, his owner fought through the court system for 2 1/2 years, she eventually secured his release back to her. To hear her sobs as she tells him she's sorry is hard. This dog is an old boy, kennels was no place for an elderly dog. You're free and loved Walter ❤️ Absolutely tragic to put this family through this TRAUMA for 2 1/2 years without any real evidence!! How cruel and unnecessary. The strength of Walter's Mum to fight for her baby and WIN is amazing!! SASSY got ADOPTED!! 😍🎶😍 #BlackDogsRock 🖤 Waited 1042 DAYS!! From Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons: After 1042 days, Sassy left the shelter for the last time. 1.8 Million Views THREE Applications TWO met her only requirement ONE applicant responded Always adored, but never adopted, Sassy kept her spirits high after waiting nearly 3 years to find a home. With the winter storm warning, Sassy’s applicants traveled a day early and stayed in a hotel to make sure they would not miss meeting her. They took Sassy for a walk and played in our training center, and upon returning they told us they were already in love with her! They continued playing with Sassy in a meet and greet room and signed the adoption contract! Sassy showed off her tippy taps one last time and took a new family photo. A crowd of staff greeted Sassy as she left the kennel for her last time. She was loved so deeply by so many staff members. We could always count on her for a laugh and a smile. After 1042 days, Sassy left the shelter for the last time. As soon as Sassy got home, she started frolicking around her new backyard 🥹 We wish you such a happy life sweet girl!
