ICYMI: Marco ‘Narco’ Rubio claimed he hadn’t even seen any so-called ‘counter-plan’ by Europe, after European leaders entered panic mode following the announcement of the US-Russia deal to end the war. Not one day goes by where Europe is not reminded of its own irrelevance.

African American revolutionary Malcolm X was assassinated on this day in 1965. Here’s Malcolm on whether he fears being assassinated: ‘No I don’t. I’m a man who believes that I died 20 years ago. I live like a man who is dead already. I have no fear whatsoever of anybody, or anything.’ •Malcolm X was under constant surveillance by the FBI. •He was also monitored by the NYPD’s Bureau of Special Services •The FBI ran COINTELPRO, a program designed to disrupt Black nationalist groups and civil rights organisations. •The FBI had informants inside the Nation of Islam and there is documented evidence of efforts to create divisions and paranoia within Black political movements. Several members of Malcolm X’s family believe that the US government was involved in his assassination, or at least covered it up. Evidence was withheld in the original trial, and two of the men convicted of the murder of Malcolm X were later exonerated. The US government had every motive to kill Malcom X, and ensure that one of the greatest black revolutionary voices in the history of the US was silenced.

Donald Trump says he’s ’not happy’ with how negotiations with Iran are going. Perhaps if he changes his negotiating stance of demanding total strategic capitulation from Iran, he may actually get something out of the negotiations.

Belgium’s🇧🇪 PM: ‘To negotiate with Putin, I think, is not a very good idea, because as the Americans said, if you want to speak, speak softly, but carry a big stick. We don’t have a big stick. We can only speak softly.’ At least they realise their geopolitical uselessness… But as the longest serving Soviet Foreign Minister Andrei Gromyko said, “better ten years of negotiations than one day of war.”

Vladimir Putin🇷🇺 on the US’🇺🇸 threat to supply Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles: ‘If such weapons are used against Russia, our response will be overwhelming.’ To state the obvious, the only reason Zelensky’s regime still exists is because Russia has not used its overwhelming firepower to wipe out the Ukrainian command and leadership. To pretend otherwise is delusion, Zelensky risks annihilation, while the US risks as a direct retaliation.

🚨🇷🇺🇺🇦Lindsey Graham to Zelensky: ‘You’re the ally I’ve been hoping for all my life. Not ONE American has died defending Ukraine, you’ve taken our weapons and kicked Russia’s ass.’ Zelensky gets praised for being a good little vassal state leader who sacrificed an entire generation of his people for Washington’s goal of weakening Russia, which resulted in Russia’s army being larger than at the beginning of the war, daily losses of territory in the east, and a defensive line that is on the brink of collapse.

Prof. Steve Hanke: Russia🇷🇺 is a BIG WINNER from Strait of Hormuz Remaining SHUT ‘The commodities that are all plugged up in the Gulf right now are in short supply, and the price is going up. It happens that Russia produces some of those key commodities that are plugged up in the Gulf. One of them happens to be oil, but also fertilisers, helium, aluminium, etc. So as those prices go up, of course that’s beneficial to Russia. It’s exporting and, to some extent, even having some of the sanctions lifted, at least temporarily, on Russian exports, believe it or not. Russia is actually increasing the quantities that they’re exporting, and they’re exporting those at higher prices. So they’re a winner in that sense. You can see this in all kinds of telltale signs, one being the fact that the ruble is pretty strong right now. Of course, there’s a little grumbling about that with the fiscal authorities in Moscow, because that increase in the value of the ruble versus the US dollar means that for every dollar’s worth of oil or commodities that you’re selling, you get fewer rubles per dollar. So the fiscal deficit increases a little bit as a result of that strong ruble. But the strong ruble, by the way, is also an important factor in anchoring inflation and inflation expectations in Russia. The central bank has been doing a pretty good job. They’ve slowed down the money supply growth, and as a result, inflation has come down. I think the money supply growth rate consistent with Russia’s 4% inflation target is a little over 8%. They’ve now got their growth rate down to a little over 11%, but they’ve been steadily cranking it down. As a result, the official inflation rate is about 5.6%, which is a little over the target, but it’s coming down, not up. And the strong ruble helps that, of course. —Steve Hanke, Professor of Applied Economics at Johns Hopkins University, on the season premiere of Going Underground Watch the full interview in the quoted post below👇

UAE’s🇦🇪 Mishal Kanoo: We DON’T RETALIATE against Iran because we don’t want the Iranian people to remember us as an ATTACKER! Afshin Rattansi: You can see from Iran’s point of view, and I think it’s widely accepted that the UAE hosting United States bases, even though the UAE, like Saudi Arabia, has said on no account can they be used for attacks on Iran… Still creates a situation where hosting those bases makes GCC countries targets when the United States is involved in military operations. Mishal Kanoo مشعل كانو: “If I accept that premise, and I do, then I should also extend the same logic to Azerbaijan, which has Israeli bases, and to Turkey, which has American bases. There was a hit on Azerbaijan, of course, and then they said it was a mistake. The same thing happened with Turkey — “sorry, it’s a mistake” — and that was a NATO country after all. The reason why the IRGC is attacking our part of the world is because they perceive us to be an easy target — someone who is not going to retaliate. And we’re not going to retaliate, not because we can’t, but because there’s a difference between not wanting to retaliate and being unable to. They know that if you attack Turkey, you are dealing with a proper army and a capable military. Turkey has been actively involved in conflicts and skirmishes in Syria, Iraq, and Azerbaijan. It’s a frightening prospect for them because of both capability and proximity — Turkey has the military strength to project force directly into Iran. Azerbaijan is similar. It may not be viewed as a major military superpower, but there are approximately 15 million Azeris living in Iran. If Azerbaijan were to respond to an attack by moving in, Iran would face a significant internal and external challenge. This is why, in the eyes of the IRGC, we are seen as the easier target — and why they keep hitting us. The argument that this is simply because of American bases doesn’t fully hold. Yes, the bases are there — but what about American ships, frigates, and other assets? Why aren’t they being targeted in the same way? Why is it primarily our region, where there is little to no retaliatory trajectory from our side? It’s because we know that, ultimately, they will remain our neighbours. We do not have an issue with the Iranian population, and we don’t want to create one for the future. When the current rulers eventually move on and new leadership emerges, we don’t want to have a history where we were the aggressors.” -One of the UAE’s🇦🇪 most prominent businessmen Mishal Kanoo مشعل كانو, Chairman of the The Kanoo Group, and one of Gulf Business’s Top 100 Powerful Arabs 2025.
