🇷🇺🇺🇦 Prof. Jeffrey Sachs on the Ukraine proxy war: The war in Ukraine is a war that came, as you mentioned, with a coup that overthrew a Ukrainian President so that NATO could enlarge all the way to Russia’s border. When the United States pushed the Europeans to agree to commit to Ukraine’s membership in NATO, then German Chancellor Merkel wrote in her diary that this was, as she knew, tantamount to a declaration of war. That’s the way that the Russians would see it, and she was right. She wasn’t strong enough to resist George W. Bush. She should have. We have been on a slide to war ever since 2008, when the US pushed for this NATO enlargement. 2014 started the war with the US-backed coup on February 22nd, 2014. And Europeans have gone with gusto denying truth, denying logic, denying the off ramps to peace, and till today they are the warmongers right now. They’re championing the war, they’re talking about escalation, they’re talking about remilitarising Germany, God forbid… I’ve been pressing and writing open letters to Chancellor Merz and publishing pretty much nonstop in the German media. Talk, because remember, German reunification in 1990 came because you, the German leaders, promised that NATO wouldn’t move one inch eastward. Go talk, go learn what the Russian point of view is. And when you understand the Russian point of view, this war could stop in a day on sensible terms that are sensible for Russia, for Ukraine, and for Europe. Prof. Jeffrey Sachs: ‘European officials are UNBELIEVABLY RECKLESS with the threat of nuclear war with Russia🇷🇺. We are at DIRE RISK.’ ‘We have pundits and we have officials that say, “Oh, that’s a bluff”, you know, this threat of nuclear weapons. These people are so unbelievably reckless. With your life, and my life, and my children’s lives and my grandchildren’s lives, I can’t even tell you how disgusted I am by this blasé attitude. We are at dire risk of blowing ourselves up, and to deny it and then just talk provocatively and Russia hate talk and, ‘oh, yes, maybe we can take Kaliningrad’ and on and on. This kind of recklessness is shocking. Don’t these people understand anything? Apparently not. This is, but by the way, when I spoke with one very nice European official and I said, “Just say NATO is not going to enlarge.” He said, “Oh well, you know the United States has has said that to President Putin.” I said, “Yeah, it may be true. They said it privately. They didn’t follow through, and your government has never said it. So why don’t you say it publicly?” And he looked at me a little quizzically, like that was a new thought. “Oh, that’s interesting. Yeah, let me think about that.” Do they not understand what’s going on? I really don’t know. It’s shocking to me that this has continued in this way for years. But I think that there is a tremendous amount of incompetence and cowardice and unwillingness of these politicians to admit basic truths, and that that keeps this going. And as the gloves come off, Russia is going to, you know, as Otto von Bismarck famously said, they're slow to saddle up, but when they ride, they ride fast. And that's where Russia is going. And that's where everybody in the West is going to be shocked as how quickly the Donbass falls. What could have been, Ukraine could have kept Odessa, Kiev, Kharkov, and large parts of the country under the deal that Trump promised in August in Anchorage last year. But Trump actually saw Putin's willingness to do that deal as weakness rather than this was the last exit ramp for the West to avoid Ukraine just becoming a rump state. And that's what's going to happen there. Vance knows Russia is winning the war. He knows Russia will win the war. And he made efforts to try to get the Anchorage deal through. But Trump rug pulled it all the way through because he wants Putin to bow to him, he wants Xi to bow to him. Prof. Robert Pape reveals Donald Trump’s 3-DAY BOMBING CAMPAIGN plan against Iran, warns of massive escalation ‘I’ve been warning for weeks that we would be moving to a stage of the escalation trap where we would see the war spread to Saudi Arabia and Yemen, and that has in fact happened. This is what I was anticipating and warning against. And within that, what I’ve been warning about is you will have both horizontal and vertical escalation that will occur, and it’s occurring because what you’re seeing is President Trump cannot really bring himself to end the war, and it’s because if he does that, he will have to admit defeat. And as a result, what he’s doing is he’s taking steps that feed the war or escalate the war himself. And right now, he has on his desk a three-day air plan, and you might say, “Well, three days, what’s the big deal?” This looks like a version of Instant Thunder, the air plan to decapitate Saddam Hussein and paralyse the government in Iraq in the ’91 war. This could be a much more broad, widespread set of targeting with that three days, and this is why he may also be bringing in the Marines. Afshin Rattansi: ‘Why did Al Qaeda NEVER attack Israel?’ Former Shin Bet Chief Ami Ayalon: ‘I don’t have a good answer. I think that Al Qaeda had several branches. The concept of Al Qaeda, is that the future caliphate will start somewhere in Iraq and will expand into Syria. On this day in 1941, Nazi Germany and its allies begin the Siege of Leningrad, one of the longest, brutal & destructive sieges in history. It would last for 2 years, 4 months, 2 weeks & 5 days. The goal was not to occupy the city, but to starve it into extinction. By early 1942, an estimated 100,000 people were dying in Leningrad a month, mostly from starvation. Due to the desperation, at the worst point of the siege, workers only received 250 grams of bread a day, their dependents only received 125 grams. In total desperation, people boiled wallpaper paste for starch, chewed their leather belts, and even scraped glue from furniture to eat. The harsh cold of the Russian winter was faced with no electricity, no heat, and no fuel, with Leningrad’s citizens freezing to death in -30 degrees Celsius. Up to 1.5 million Red Army soldiers & civilians died in the siege in a heroic sacrifice to ensure that the city does not fall to the Nazis. Adolf Hitler wanted to wipe out the city bearing Vladimir Lenin’s name, and exterminate the population who he viewed as sub-human. The resilience of the people of Leningrad outlasted defeated Hitler’s hatred.
