When Beretta wrapped up its military contracts in Brazil in 1980, they sold their entire São Paulo factory - lock, stock, and barrel - to Taurus. Taurus didn't just buy the building; they inherited the original Beretta blueprints, machinery, tooling, and workforce. They took the legendary 92 design and arguably improved it by keeping the safety mounted on the frame (where your thumb naturally rests) instead of moving it up to the slide like Beretta did.
