DRC 🇨🇩 🇨🇩 Cela fait un an que ce moment a eu lieu dans le Bureau ovale, et je me souviens de cette journée comme si c’était hier. Je suis entrée dans cette salle avec bien plus qu’une question je portais avec moi les voix de millions de personnes dont la souffrance était restée ignorée pendant bien trop longtemps. En tant que journaliste africaine ayant suivi de très près le conflit en République démocratique du Congo, j’ai ressenti une profonde responsabilité : celle de m’assurer que le président Trump comprenne la réalité sur le terrain. Il ne s’agissait pas simplement de poser une question. Il s’agissait de donner une voix à celles et ceux qui avaient tout perdu. Aujourd’hui, un an plus tard, mon cœur est lourd. La République démocratique du Congo continue de subir l’agression. Des familles sont encore déplacées, des vies innocentes continuent d’être perdues, et la paix pour laquelle tant de personnes ont prié reste hors de portée. Mais je refuse de croire que tout espoir est perdu. Tant que les armes ne se seront pas tues et que chaque enfant congolais ne pourra pas rêver sans peur, je continuerai à raconter leur histoire. Parce que le silence n’est jamais une option lorsque des vies sont en jeu. Le peuple de la République démocratique du Congo mérite bien plus que de la compassion. Il mérite la paix.
