I asked Khaman Maluach if he feels he’s too good for Summer League, considering the dominant performances. “I don’t think there’s such a thing as too good. Even great players like LeBron James, they still have more to learn, so I don’t think there’s such a thing like that. I just go out there and play my game. I just go out there and leave it all out on the floor. I don’t think about no rebounds, I don’t think about no points because those are just numbers. I control what I control, and that’s my effort. That’s my energy and communication, and my leadership.”

Khaman Maluach has been living inside the Suns practice facility this offseason. “Pretty much every day I’ve been here. Monday to Friday, some weeks Monday to Saturday. It depends on what my body feels like but we’ve been in here in the gym. Me, Koby, Rasheer, some of our older teammates. We’ve been here working and just trusting the process and making sure we’re doing the right thing every day.”

Khaman Maluach on what has grown off the court from his rookie to sophomore season. “I think I’ve always had the mental edge. I just had to go to the next level. I think the mental part was a good part, too. It’s a big piece of the game of basketball. It’s almost 90% mental than physical. I’ve always worked with that… learning from older guys, for example, reaching out to other bigs in the NBA and being able to learn from them. I asked who he reached out too. “I reached out to Rudy (Gobert) and I asked him how he keeps up with his body. What he does throughout the whole summer, and just really learn from him and have something to take away from him.”

I asked Valériane Ayayi about her FIBA clearance after missing the first two games and if there was anything she could share about that process. “The club I played for, in Prague, didn’t release my letter of clearance because I opted out of my contract. So, there’s no more things that I can say because we are still on the procedure. But yeah, this was them blocking me actually because they didn’t want me to opt out.”

The latter was shouting at Ott about the previous possession where he had a mismatch and wasn’t found. “He told me I sucked in so many words that I messed up the last couple of possessions on who to get involved with him.
